Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Marshalltown

I ate here wedensday, June 6th 2018. I was with my friends, one of which I only see once every other YEAR. We came here with the intentions of eating dinner and having drinks. I ordered the Brunch Burger, which comes with an egg of my choice on top of the burger. I wanted an over medium egg, because I like the yolk to be slightly hard, but still a tiny bit runny. They bring our food, everything is going great. Our plan is to eat first, then order drinks. I bite my burger, and egg whites come running out over the bun and plate and down my wrists. Yes, that's right. EGG WHITE. Not only was the egg not anywhere near cooked to medium- but it wasn't cooked at all! When i send my plate back, the waitress says, "hmmm okay?" And sends my plate back to the kitchen. 35 minutes later, my friends are far done eating and I'm waiting on my burger to come back. my waitress arrives and puts my plate on the table and says, "this better?" I cut into the egg and it still is severely undercooked on the verge of being raw. I say, "I'm not eating or paying for this" (I personally hate raw egg white, it was like eating a burger that someone blew their nose on) she rolls her eyes and walks away without a word. And honestly, I wasn't even rude at all. Because I am still a nice person.. the problem with my food was not the waitresses problem. She may have been having a bad day, which is fine. She still received a tip even though she wasn't very professional or nice to us.

. I ended up drinking an ice water, watching all my friends eat and chat. I just find it depressing that the cook can't even cook something as simple as an over medium egg. Let alone an OVER EASY EGG. Very sad. I was very uncomfortable and starving. Good thing I had a frozen pizza at home. Oh, and none of my friends ordered drinks there either. We went somewhere else for that, obviously. Horrible experience. Horrible service. I was really looking forward to...

Drove from an hour away to meet here to celebrate a family member's birthday, and we were very disappointed with the service we received. Going out to eat as a family is very expensive nowadays, to be receiving such poor service. My fiance and I arrived and it took much too long for the waitress to come by to ask about drinks. Then she must have forgotten, and it took another 10 minutes for her to come back with our waters. This was at 3:30 in the afternoon, so not very busy at all. When the food came out, there was an extra entree brought out that we sent back, as we did not order it. When the check came, we kindly pointed out the extra entree that we had been charged and the waitress came over and questioned us about the food we received and made a comment along the lines of, "well that's what I wrote down" ...but at least the manager was able to take it off. If our waitress had come by at all, she would have seen herself what was actually eaten by our family. When our waitress brought out the new check she practically tossed it on the table. She came by to pick up our card and to bring it back, each time we thanked her, and she would leave without a word. She had been very short with us/unwelcoming the entire time, and rude towards the end. I would have preferred to leave her no tip at all, but we can't bring ourselves to do that. Very...

i normally do not post anything like this… but me and my boyfriend went in to applebees tonight. we were sat and the waitress (emma) didn’t great us for the first 15 minutes. when she did we ordered water, and then just ordered a 2 for $25 chicken parm fettuccinex2 and buffalo boneless wings as the app. she took our order and it took another 10 minutes for our water.. the people in the booth next to us got their drinks, their apps, and food all in this time frame and they sat 10 minutes after us. (they had another server so it was a different section she looked like she was doing a great job. they had their drinks and apps before we even got our waters.) i’ve waited tables in the past for years so i was trying to be patient i get it things happen. after almost 40 minutes w no apps and just waiting the waitress (emma) walks us over Broccoli fettuccines. we looked at her and said “we ordered the chicken parm on the 2 for $25, and we haven’t gotten our wings yet.” and she was like oh sorry and looked at her book, and walked away.. we just got up and left bc we didn’t wanna wait another 40 minutes for wings and pasta and barely being talked too. i waited tables for abt 7 years of my life, and this was ridiculous. it...
