Florence Italian Restaurant Inc — Restaurant in Martinez

A cute little Italian restaurant in Martinez. Very basic menu. I had the lasagna . It was ok. Nothing terrible but definitely not worth the almost 20$ pricetag. My husband had a chicken parmigiana and again nothing special. It wasn't terrible just not really great. The gatlic bread appetizer was a bit disappointing. 4 tiny pieces of garlic bread toasted. No dipping sauce barely enough to share between the 3 of us. Our friend liked the ravioli he had. The service could use some work. I was handed my plate and warned it was hot? They werent busy but didnt refill our water even though they could see it was empty. I didnt even get a chance to ask for more. We werent asked how our diner was , also didnt even come back to the table after until well after the meal was done. All the small things that can make your experience a better one. Not sure how to really write this.

I had the pasta with clams.

Utterly tasteless ; there no aromatic, no seasoning. The cream sauce has no body , of course cream sauce can’t stick to regular round pasta. It was really not cooking but just throw ingredients in the pan. I don’t think the cook tasted their own food before food. Not sure why would any resturant does not have quality control.

The soup is equally disappointment. I did not know the soup my friend order for me initially, it smell like mild French onion soup, strong onion favor , looks watery soup with dark sauce, not much tomato, does not look it had any tomato paste . And my friend told me it the most common American Italian milestones !!! I actually threw 80 % away.

And of course, this was on Friday early evening.

2 pastas, 2 soup and apetisser = $89

I think Panda Express $9 bowl each would have been a wiser...

7/27/25 Racist and Discriminatory! I walked into the Florence restaurant and headed toward the back to wash my hands and use the restroom. I was immediately stopped by a woman, apparently the cashier, who blocked access and told me it was not a public restroom. I responded politely, letting her know that I intended to make a purchase. She replied that I needed to buy something first before I could use the restroom. I said okay.

However, when she proceeded to take my order, her tone was condescending and rude. As I reached for my card to pay, she threatened me saying the restroom better be clean or she would call the police. I was completely stunned. I told her I wouldn’t spend a dime there and walked out.

Not to mention, I’ve never even been to this restaurant before!
