Don't let the mini-mall location fool you. This quaint mom and pop spot has one of, if not the best, sushi in St. Louis. Let's face it, getting fresh ocean fish in Missouri is HARD. But after putting down 30 or so rolls (shared) over 10ish visits, not once has the freshness disappointed me. Yes, its american style rolls. Yes, its from frozen fish (like everwhere here), but every cut and roll is clean, generous, and lacking that fishy

Broke my 500 mile from the ocean rule once again and regretted it almost immediately.

Stopped here because of the 4.8 rating. No idea how this restaurant has earned a rating so high.

Staff was pleasant. Ordered multiple pieces of nigri and a Play Boy roll. Got it to go.

First, nigri is priced per piece, not per pair. Was expecting two pieces, like most other sushi restaurants. The menu doesn't specify.

Got a few unusual cuts like sea bass and red snapper. The sea bass was chewy and tough. Like, I had to chew it like jerky to get it down. The snapper tasted like tilapia (yes, I know the difference). Rest of the cuts tasted "off", best way I can describe them.

The roll was horrible. Six pieces, each piece was an inch and a half wide. Disintegrated with chop sticks. Tried with my hands, completely fell apart. Once I did get a bite, had the same off taste as the nigri.

Worst part, I had 4 hours to go on my drive for the night, made it 1 hour before I had to find a bathroom. Then 2 hours, 3 and so on. Drive took an extra hour.

Going to stick to my rule...

Me and my family had a horrible experience at this place. We went to celebrate a special day for my son and this experience ruined our entire day. We were seated and asked for our drink order. My 2 children asked for lemonade. Me and my wife for water. We were brought two bottles of water and 2 bottled lemonades. 2 other couples came shortly after and were given glasses of water. By this time no one had taken our order. The other two couples’ orders were taken and we were told to give them a few minutes. Our order was finally taken. After 15 minutes the other couples received their order and finished before we got ours, which were the same food as the other couples. My kids finally received their order, which was ok. I politely declined my food due to inferior service, as did my wife. My wife asked about the water issue and the waitress indicated we wouldn’t be charged for the waters. I told the manager the same and he said our food was also free. Free food can’t remedy poor service. Never returning to this...

This easily became a new favorite sushi spot. Tucked away in a low traffic shopping center, it can be easy to miss. Very peaceful and relaxing environment and low noise - some of the bigger sushi restaurants tend to be packed and it can be a bit of an audio-sensory overload at times. While we were here, my partner and I almost felt compelled to whisper to keep the ambiance. They described feeling very "zen" while enjoying our meal. We had 3 rolls total, an order of miso soup and a side of fried rice. First off - they make PERFECT fried rice. Texture, flavor, ingredients, everything. Will be driving down here just for their fried rice in the future. The rolls were delicious and satisfying. They have some unique rolls I hadn't seen before. I had the Crab Rangoon Roll, and if you like rolls w/ cream cheese or crab rangoons in general, this is a MUST HAVE. The miso soup was also perfect and a great appetizer for the main course. Special thanks to the staff for an amazing meal, and we'll see you again soon!!
