We went to get the famous Peruvian breakfast which entails Pan con Chicharrón, which is a Pork sandwich. The pork is cooked in the oven and comes out in tender slices usually pork shoulder. The pork is served on a fresh roll, cold noon salad and fried sweet potato soft chips. It really is a delicacy when made right. The onion salad, a Peruvian accompaniment and staple is a simple thinly diced onion with lime, aji, and olive oil. That was well done. They skimped out on the sweet potato wedges that are part of this classic breakfast sandwich. Let’s get to the nitty gritty. The pork was terrible. I was dubious. The meat looked old but telling was the fact that it was pork belly served rather than larger thicker slices of off-the-bone pork shoulder. The pork had no flavor. In order to serve the sandwich, it is put in the oven for several hours marinated in spices. When served it is sliced roast beef style and served with its accoutrements. Unfortunately, I was right to doubt the looks of the sandwich and the pork because not only was it undercooked, tasted in places somewhat rubbery and had a strange smell to it. I give the sandwich, a 5 out of 10. We ordered a side of plantains with black beans and sour cream. This is - a Peruvian restaurant. There is no chef just a cook. Unless, they are Central American or special trained, you can cook black beans right. These tasted straight out of a can or store brought beans. Not much else to add unless you want fresh cooked puréed beans, so, skip. The plantains were either old which makes the plantains have no flavor and the texture is passed ripe or the oil was old. Huevos rancheros- hard pass…served with red tomato sauce no flavor and skimpy. Same store bought black beans and 3 small pieces of plantains. Also, I hate going to eat to Latino restaurants that second as dance places or like like a disco. Outdated and cheesy décor. Upsides in summary: fresh bread & onion salad Great fresh coffee Can’t take away the good service by our waitress Thumbs down- pan con Chicharrón Huevos rancheros Plátanos Décor Rice in the salt shakers. I get it. Latinos believe the rice helps the salt get it out but C'mon, more rice than salt?! Check out the menus. Just looking at the taped on prices made me laugh. Queen of the tacky!!! Intentions are there but the food is just meh.

as a peruvian, I got Choros ala Chalaca and Leche de Tigre and both were honestly…. bad . Nothing tasted fresh, even the fried shrimp felt mealy and rubbery like the shrimp was bad. I felt kind of sick afterwards. never coming again unless they upgrade the quality of their food.

Today was my third visit, my review as a Peruvian, the first two times were fine, I had some ceviche and jalea and they were decent, flavor was there, the portion was enough to fill you up. Today unfortunately I had a papa rellena, papa rellena is supposed to be cooked to order in order to avoid dry potatoes and and a soft shell, when cooking a papa rellena you want the potatoes to remain moist and the shell to have a little crunch to it, the filling which is ground meat with vegetables and boiled egg is supposed to be warm and have a decent amount of filling when eating it with the potatoes, this papa rellena had a soft shell, the potato was dry and had a sand like texture, there was barely any filling inside and on top of that it was cold, it felt as if the papa rellena was fully cooked then put back in the refrigerator and microwaved to order so I asked, the server told me it needed more time In the microwave, it saddens me because I know how a good papa rellena should taste like. Service could be better, maybe just come to the table every 10-15 min to check if we need anything else, overall...

I went to try a Salchipapa. Something simple but it's comfort street food. Place was not busy, only 3 tables had customers. I placed my order and the lady said it will 15 minutes. No problem I said, I was soooo looking forward to enjoy my salchipapa. I came back 15 minutes later and had to wait another 5 to 7 minutes. Whike I was waiting I noticed that they had an issue with a table complaining about a Leche de Tigre ( tasting funny). I should had walk away, but no I wanted my salchipapa. Finally my order came. I left went to the carwash down the street to wash my car and eat my salchipapa while I waited. Yes the moment has arrived, NOT!!!!!! What I had was not to standard. Fries were super soagy and greasy, a.k.a cooked in cold oil it had a few pieces of hotdogs. But nothing else. I was soooo disappointed. I had to bites and thrower it away. Too busy to execute a little order I don't want to see what you do with real food. Stop selling low quality food. One and...
