Bob Evans — Restaurant in Maryland

My family and I decided that we would have breakfast in Calvert County on yesterday after visiting our Fathers grave site. The Restaurant that we want to dine at was to crowded, therefore, we decided to dine at Bob Evans. We were so glad that we did, the food was delicious, I myself order the whole Hog breakfast and I am not a fan of French toast, but Bob Evans has change my mind on that the French toast along with everything else on my plate was delicious. The either 8 family members ordered from the lunch and dinner sections of the menu and they enjoyed their meals to the fullest.

We had an amazing waitress (Simone) She took all of our orders without writing it down. I truly thought that she was going to miss 1 or 2 orders or mess up on some of the meals, to our amazement every order came out perfectly, the food was hot and Simone was in tune with everything we needed.

For going in at 7:20am this morning my group sure felt rushed even though there was one maybe two other tables seated in the entire restaurant. 2/3 of our group was not even half way through our meals when he brought the checks out. In addition to that, when I asked for a refill on the coffee he told me that it wasnt free refills and that it would be another charge. I told him that of all the Bob Evan's I've been to around the country it's always been free refills. He told me that corporate policy had changed and it's not anymore. When we went to pay our bill though I looked at the menu again out of curiosity and in fact it stated that there is free refills on all drinks except for juice and milk. After telling him this, he begrudgingly asked his manager, and the manager told him yeah it is free refills. So the whole "corporate policy change" was a flat out lie, not just a mistake. I should have turned around and left as soon as I saw that the parking lot was almost empty on a Sunday afternoon. That was the first of MANY red flags. We were sat at a dirty table that still had spilled coffee and syrup on it. Our silverware was dirty (still had food on them). Asked for a new set, which were also dirty! The menu I was handed had something sticky and gross on the inside of it. I had to go was my hands and get a new menu. My glass of water had something gritty (probably food particles) on the outside, which made me not want to touch it at all. I am beyond disgusted and thoroughly disappointed to the point where I feel like I need to take a shower just from being inside the restaurant. Needless to say, we left without eating.
