I was visiting from outside the area, and we saw that this establishment had a decent rating. I noticed that the place was deserted and all the lights were off once I went to pick up my online order, and nobody was there to initially greet me. One of the employees eventually handed me my food, and I went back to the airbnb I was staying at during my visit in the area. Once I took the food out the bag, I noticed that the chicken was clearly old and dried out. I called back to explain the issue about the food and the manager accused me of being the cause of the chicken being dried out. I told her I needed a refund and she wanted me to bring the food back. The manager was persistent on telling me that it was my fault that the chicken was in the condition it was in, and she was being very argumentative. The manager was rude and lacked any form of professionalism. I’ve been to several Peruvian chicken establishments in the past, and this failed to meet the qualifications what would be deemed as basic customer service skills, and the health department should really do a surprise visit on that place. I would highly recommend looking for other options if you have a taste for authentic...
Read moreBeen coming here to Robert's restaurant since they opened. Craig the cook always prepares my food with accuracy and pride. Always get the rotisserie chicken, fried yuca, and plantains. Food is always fresh and delicious especially with the homemade yellow sauce. I had a slight issue tonight that I did not realize until I got home. I was missing a couple inca kola sodas also unfortunately almost all my favorite yellow sauces busted in the bag. I called and spoke to the owner of the restaurant Robert. He apologized and asked if he could drive to bring me some inca kolas and yellow sauces. I was shocked to hear this especially because I live in the north end of the county far away from the restaurant. I asked him if he was sure but he insisted. About 20 minutes later Robert arrived all the way up to the north end of the county to deliver my sodas and extra sauce. I could not be more thankful and appreciative for this amazing act of kindness. No other restaurant in Calvert is going to go above and beyond to take care of their customers the way Robert did. This is why I will always say good things about Pollo Delicioso....
Read moreAs far as the food, it was delicious. Their chicken is superb, and my mom got the $6.50 lunch special which included a piece of rotisserie chicken, her side of green beans, and a drink. She said the beans were very well seasoned, and it was in quite a large container. Great deal! I got a large (It was huge!) salad with a lot of warm rotisserie diced chicken on top, for $11.00, and a soda for less than $2.00. Also, they gave 10% off for paying cash. I ate for about a half hour, and it looked like I had hardly touched the salad! Mom shredded her leftover chicken over my salad, and took the rest home along with the rest of her green beans for a second large meal for later. The employees were super friendly and quickly brought out the food. The guy even brought out a bag at the end and packed up my mom's leftovers for her! My ONLY slight complaint was that the room was a little warm, with a fan blowing strongly across the room. We actually enjoyed not feeling frozen while eating though! Give it a try! It gets forgotten with all of the other restaurants...
