Hanging out in Maryland on business and it's dinner time! So I did my usual Yelp due-diligence to find a good sushi place since it's what I was craving. I found Fuji Sushi and here's how it went!

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the edge of what looks like a campus of strip malls is this gem. Inside is pretty traditional. I don't want to use the word boring, but the decor was straightforward. Dark woods, a drop ceiling and pictures of Japanese-related art all over the place. It was quiet despite it being pretty busy in there.

Service: I sat right at the sushi counter so I could see all of the action! I was also all alone so I didn't want to take up an entire table. Cat took care of me and she was pretty chill. She got me what I needed and everything was fine. However my sushi did take a while to come out.

Food: I started with some Shumai which are steamed shrimp dumplings. They were hot, with a medium boldness, not very salty or shrimpy. A good mix of overall flavors. Next up was the Amazing Roll which is a "spicy crunch salmon" and fresh mango on the inside with blackened tuna, sweet shrimp, eel and avocado outside then finished with a special sauce and assorted tobiko on top. It was fresh, not spicy with a light-medium boldness, a good moderate crunch. This was DELIGHTFUL. Lastly I went with their Flora Roll. I can't remember what was in this roll since it's no longer offered on the menu, but it was really succulent, creamy, spicy, with a moderate crunch and I also REALLY liked this roll.

Value: When I went my shumai was $5.75 and each of my rolls were $16.00 and when I look at their menu now, the prices haven't changed. THAT'S amazing. Lol.

In conclusion, I enjoyed my time here and I'd...

Great place to take a date or your family. Staff has always been super friendly and attentive. I go for the sushi (obviously) but was pleasantly surprised at how good the other dishes were. Their teriyaki chicken was really good. Nice casual atmosphere where you will never be over/under dressed and prices were right where they should be. They only item I didn't care for was the hot tea which was a bit strong for me (seaweed after taste?) but everyone else seemed to really enjoy it so I think that was just my taste and not the product. Oh, and if you aren't an expert with chopsticks, they have little plastic helpers that you can use so you don't feel left out. ...

I have ordered weekly from Fuji Sushi since 2007. In all of those orders, I can count two times I’ve been disappointed (once on a spicy tuna roll and once they forgot a spicy Mayo). Statistically, that is absolutely outstanding. Their dine in service is superb and to go service mirrors that in quality and packing. The miso soup is always fantastic and the fish is always fresh. The fried rice, bel air roll, spicy California roll, Alaska roll, and crab wontons have always been perfect without fail. I will continue to support Fuji sushi as long as they are open and continually vote them the best sushi restaurant in Maryland. You will not regret...

We just stopped by for lunch and I wish I could give 100 stars. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Carol. She was beyond amazing. She had water right away for us and recommended rolls for us. She was very attentive and so nice. She knew what we wanted before we even asked. We ordered Gyoza, 3 sushi rolls, Pearl River with real crab, empire, dragon and sunrise rolls and shrimp and filet hibachi. Everything was delicious. The filet was so tender and flavorful. I would come back here to get steak before going to a steakhouse to get a filet, it was that good. I would highly recommend dining here. Carol and the food was impeccable!

I enjoyed it! I was skeptical at first because I have heard bad things about this place but I'm glad we went. It was a random, we want sushi so let's stop here. Although I have had better sashimi, the miso soup was great, we ordered seconds. Not a fan of imitation crab meat so I got the Baltimore roll but just a tad bit to much Old Bay. Overall, it was still great service (Thanks Kat), good food and quiet. The prices are legit, we ordered a bunch of things off the menu so the tab was higher than it probably would have been if she wasn't Hangry.
