While the food at Ledo's Pizza in Greenbelt lived up to our expectations, the experience lacked. We have frequented Ledo's in other locations and never had a bad experience. However, we will likely not go back to this location. Every table we could see was dirty, so we sat at the cleanest dirty booth we could find. A young man with a dripping wet dish cloth came over and asked us if the table was dirty and we said, "Yes, we could not find a clean one." The server joined us and she and the busboy looked around and pointed out a clean table, arguing with us that not all the tables were dirty. Ok. The busboy proceeded to clean all the other tables, after ge cleaned ours, moving them all over the floor, banging the chairs, sweeping under them while banging his broom into his extended-handle dustpan, while noisily scooting chairs in and out. Between that and the very loud TV, we could not hear each other talking.
My husband's meal was served so far ahead of mine that I encouraged him to eat without me so that his hot sub would not get cold. When I questioned our server, she said that serving people at the same time so they could eat together would be "hmmm an idea." She offered to take his meal back and put it under the warming lights, but it seemed an odd thing for his meal, partially eaten, to be taken away, so we declined. His meal was half eaten by the time she brought mine. She gave the excuse that subs don't take as long as pizza and the cook had other pizzas besides mine, so mine was going to take longer.
The staff at this location needs training. The servers should be trained to keep food under warming lights so that guests sitting at the same table can actually eat their meals at the same time. The cook could time things better, knowing that subs don't take as long so should not be started so soon. These are simple things that would make a big difference in someone's...
Read moreI am a lifetime fan of ledos. I am known by voice (not name) at several locations for decades. I am not happy about the lazy culture that seems to have taken over lately. The original restaurant in Adelphi was open until 11pm every nigh and they would answer the phone until 11pm. Now, we should never expect to speak to anyone after 8:29pm. Why do you advertise closing at 9pm when you actually close at 830? That, to me, seems lazy and a bit arrogant because you're sending the message that you don't need the additional orders you'd get if you answered the phone until 845 at least. Not to mention you never even went back to your pre-COVID hours, and you're just shaving off an additional 30 minutes because you're mediocre now. And i guess that's my problem...the mediocrity that seems to have taken over your business practices. And the IRONY of a company whose motto is "we never cut corners" yet you don't answer the phone after 830 is embarrassing really. If you're open until 8pm, then ANSWER THE PHONE AT 831! I'm so disappointed in you...
Read moreI will not be returning to this Ledo’s location until after COVID-19 is over. I did not feel safe in their restaurant given the proximity to other customers. There is a narrow hallway in which customers lineup before reaching the counter (six feet apart), after paying and receiving your pizza you have to walk down the same narrow hallway to exit the restaurant. Additionally a handful of customers showed up for their order and had to wait an extended period of time in an already crowded small space. This all occurred on a Friday evening. If this location plans to continue operating during this health crisis they seriously need to reevaluate their operating practices to ensure the safety of their customers. Providing more realistic wait times when orders are placed over the phone is one step in the right direction. I will say that the young man at the counter was doing a very good job given the volume of customers and...
