Update: As of July 21 Osaka is under new management. Mr. Lee and his talents are gone. The new staff looks promising but it's going to take me some getting use to with the changes in the food. the dynamite roll, which is basically shrimp tempura, was made futomaki style with a gratuitous amount of rice and fairly difficult to eat. My scallop and Salmon Roe Nigiri ("Apolo" and "Ikura") remained tasty yet slightly smaller portioned. My NY temaki's (handroll) salmon, Although too finely chopped and messy, was nicely smoked with added eel (brown) sauce to compliment the rice. The sushi rice at Osaka no longer has the sweet, vinegar essence it did previously, but I expected that with a new chef. All in all it's still a decent place for sushi. If you're experienced, you'll notice that a place like this is leaps and bounds better than grocery store bought sushi. One positive thing I observed was the restaurant's plentiful amount of signature rolls filled with tasty, sauces and new ideas (can't recall any names at the moment.)
Hopefully with this new management we can see some expansion and a wider variety of fish! Maybe some seabass...
Read moreI knew this restaurant was around for a while but this was my 1st visit. I still like to eat in, esp with freshly made food. When i arrived, the first impression was "they have no sit down service", but there was one couple and some tables were set so thankfully they did. The sign says "restaurant and bar" but the bar is now a storage (hense my first impression). We sat and ordered from a nice waiter who seems not to have gotten word the pandemic is over. Maybe that's why the restaurant feels unwelcome inside? Anyway, the food was good, from the miso soup to sushi. However the steaming dumplings were a disappointment, i suggest skipping them. In addition, there is no music. One other couple came in (it was a Thursday evening) and i don't remember the last time i ate in a restaurant where you could hear the refrigerator motors running 😮 Anyway, my advise would be: if you are in the mood for Japanese food, order out from this restaurant. The sushi is good, the seaweed salad with avocado was good as well. It's just this restaurant is simply not...
Read moreI really wanted to try this place and like it bc I love sushi. Came in at lunch time. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted, but I looked at the menu and decided I wanted to stay. So I went back to the car to unload my baby and get my husband. When we walked in we weren’t greeted again so I said hi and the person replied back very annoyed. Also the establishment was practically desolate with only 1 other couple. The waiter said he had a lot of orders was backed up and it would take a while but we still said that’s okay and sat down. After that we weren’t offered water or anything and it pretty much felt like we were disregarded as he went back to work. The service was really bad. Maybe I caught him on a bad day but the vibe was awful. We left and went to ruby Tuesday across from it and the customer service was a million times better & the food was good too. Maybe I have to try again but I did also see another person in the reviews with the...
