It is unfortunate how my black owners conduct their business. This is my local Caribbean go to food , so even though it looks like there’s an obvious change in management I kept going . Earlier today I took a friend there . First the cashier took our order but then while waiting we realized that we were not asked which rice we wanted. Asked the lady about it , long story short she handled it but she was rude . Then come the owner Carrying out some cakes , my friend asked are this carrot cake ? He said yes . My friend then said is that fresh cake , just made cake ? If look could kill , oh boy my friend and I would be no more smhh and he said some patois thing that someone had to translate for us while walking away from us . Apparently he said I am not going to answer you . I guess he felt offended by our questions. I still don’t understand why . What happened to customer service ? Friendly service? I am a big supporter of my black people business but it’s unfortunate to see such . Coming form the owner it’s even worst because it clearly teaching his employees how to be rude to customers. That cake could have been hot , and made a difference to us but it’s not as if he shouldn’t sell it the next day therefore I really don’t see why he got mad for a simple question. People will ask question as the owner it is your job to sell yourself and your products . Attitude never work . It’s a shame . Nothing like this ever happened before . But I guess now I know why . Clearly the owner himself need to understand customer service . Wonder how he is with is...
Read moreWhy this place has 4.0 rating is beyond me. The food is terribly. My friend bought curry chicken and oxtail. First of the curry tasted powdery, and the chicken tasted very dry and look like they deep fried it, then throw powdered curry gravy on it. My friend ate all the food even though I advise not to from the small bite I tried. Well lets say my friend paid the price with diarrhea. I ate the oxtail but it felt like I was chewing for a day and half. The rice and peas looks and taste like Haitian rice and peas. This food is typical Jamaican food but does not taste authentic. You'll need to stop trying to pass off taste bad and lacking flavor food as Authentic Jamaican food. I took two bite of the food and threw the entire thing in the trash including the half cooked plantains and the dry cabbage. I was too far away to take it back or even wanted to try to waste gas since money was already wasted on the horrible food. How do you mess up cabbage? Please explain this to me. I did tell my friend do not bring me any Jamaican food, I would rather eat McDonald's dry as nuggets before I eat local Jamaican but they said the place came highly recommend from a friend. Only to later find out this friend can't cook Jamaican food. Smdh. This will be my first and last time eating food here. They may have other food that may be good but this already spoiled my experience with them so I refuse to try anything else. Almost forgot, the food didn't even smell like how good food should smell. All I could smell is an onion or...
Read moreI learned about this place a few years ago by a patient of mine who was the owner of this restaurant maybe it was good in the beginning but now it’s not that good I asked the lady for specifically the one who claimed that she was a manager I asked her if the Roti was soft and she told me it was I’ve been to previous places before where they said the 🫓 Roti skins were good it was hard as a rock this Roti was harder than the last bad experience I had then she tried to go back-and-forth with me and tried to deter me from what I see she said she just made. it looks like it’s been sitting for a while that is not fresh Roti because I am cultured and I am west Indian I know the difference between fresh roti in old hard roti. Last but not least I get the 799 special before 3 o’clock and then she had the nerve to put two little plantains on my tray is it plantains are super expensive to make so I ended up buying a whole thing of plantains and she charge me $5.04 for something I could’ve made in my sleep. Poor customer service I sure hope that she’s not the owner and I will never ever come here again and I will let all my friends know because I was really rooting for this place and I was so excited to come 2 1/2 hours away to get my fiancé some West Indian food thinking at this place was really good...
