Went here on a whim, and didn't disappoint! I've gone to few turo-turo Filipino restaurants in the DMV and was overall pleased with the food. Most places didn't really leave a mark where I'd want to come back for more, but this one definitely has my eye. Tucked right in the middle of the Anchor Inn Plaza, it's a small space with a rotating selection of entrees, sides, and desserts.
Food: Caldereta -- definitely different from anything I've tasted before, and it's something I'd need to adjust to. With rice it's still tastes delicious! Potatoes were soft and creamy. Skewer -- was definitely filling and delicious. A lovely char, and deep in flavor. It reminded me of mom's cooking. Chicken Arroz Caldo -- the main thing I wanted to try, it's deep in flavor and makes me want seconds! I wish there was an option for me to put roasted/toasted garlic on top for an extra crunch.
Service: The staff were friendly, accommodating and willing to explain in detail from how the service works, as well what's in the day's menu. They'll go the extra mile to share recommendations in pairings of entrees.
Price: $$ Good price point, and for the flavor and variety of foods.
Overall: I can't wait for my next visit! Ligaya's have even impressed my overtly picky family in flavor profile so we'll be a...
Read moreVery excited to finally have an outstanding turo-turo place close to home! Visited for the first time today and was greeted by a bunch of very friendly employees who were eager to answer questions and help guide us through ordering. The menu options were all clearly laid out on the TV screens above the counter and also on boards off to the side, so it's a very customer-friendly setup.
Everything looked so fresh even just one hour before closing (6 PM on a Friday) - every option was appealing and everything we tried was amazing.
The space isn't huge but the handful of tables are welcoming and everything was clean and bright. There's also a sari-sari section with several shelves of Filipino products - we picked up a few things we've had a hard time finding at other area markets.
To summarize, great service, great food, and great atmosphere - I already know we will be here many...

Went to Grand Opening today. Surprisingly the line was not too bad. Although a lot of dishes were sold out - Dinaguan and Sinaguang. Also, the Garlic Rice was gone.
Pleasantly, surprised the Pancit, Kaldereta and Chicken Adobo were all tasty and properly seasoned. Plus, the beef and chicken were very tender! Everything was SaaaRap!! Got the fried Popano and it was a nice large size and delicious.
Got everything to go. Only seating for around 10 people. The staff was very nice and helpful! Without a doubt we will return. We live 4 miles from Manila Mart and I must mention I prefer Ligaya's which is 24 miles away. We travel for yummy food.
I recommend not trying to parking in their tiny lot. The street behind Grandview Avenue has tons of street parking! Of course you must stop by Red Ribbon which is only a...
