Pretty good overall; was expecting a bit more flavor based on other reviewers. the restaurant itself looks kind of like a dive, but that's not necessarily a bad thing as some of the best kept food spots are considered dives. I got the combination platter which was one entree with two sides. For the main I got fish, tilapia, and for the sides I got the rice and the moin-moin, which was described to me as a "bean cake" of sorts. The person that took my order was friendly and helpful. Prices seemed decent for the area. Menu is limited, which is totally fine. Food took about 10 to 15 minutes to come out, which is pretty on par. And my meal came out, it looked great and the portions were big. The rice was basically an entire bowl of rice put on the plate, the fish was a whole tilapia, and the moin-moin was shaped like a cup. The rice was fairly flavorful, but pretty spicy. It reminded me of Spanish rice of sorts. The moin-moin reminded me of refried beans, just packed tightly into a "cake". To me, it was kind of bland though. A tilapia looks good with some sort of green chile sauce from what I can tell on it. I thought it would be fried but it was probably baked or sauteed. However, I thought the fish was sort of bland as well. It wasn't bad per se, I guess I just was expecting a lot more...
Read moreGreat Food. Horrible service. Upon ordering our food, we requested that it not contain any MEAT of any kind. Spinach, Yam and plaintains. We made it very clear that I was vegetarians and did not want any fish. She even ask once she reviewed the order. Twenty minutes later my food came and I notice there was a texture other than a veggie. When I asked to speak to the lady who serve us she said “ I’m busy, what do she want?” She finally came after her “busyness” and I asked is the spinach all veggie, she said it has Sawfish in the sauce. “It’s ok, all vegetarians eat it” then she refused to make us a dish without it, and if she did, she wanted to charge us additional for a mistake that she made which seems like it was on purpose. She went back and forth with us for quite some time until she finally agreed to use a red sauce for it instead and not charge us additional. My thing is I’m confused as to why the red sauce didn’t get used the first time around? 🤔 The establishment has so much potential, some nice music and dimmer lighting with table dressing will give it a better feel. I honestly would recommend this place after they’ve had an upgrade of better employees, customer service, and a quality...
Read moreNaija Cafe is one of best of the best. I was referred there by a family friend and sister because I was looking for a good caterer to cater for my upcoming event. When I say every food I ate, tasted so yummy and scrumptious is understatement. Jollof rice that I ate, had the perfect texture and flavor deliciously delicious, O' Moi moi was out of this world. Egusi soup was very tasty and the goat meat which I ordered in the soup, was well seasoned and tender. the efor "vegetable"soup had some little chopped up bite and flavour was Uhmm uhmm... the efor soup you could eat as an entrée by itself "yummmylicious" Naija Cafe do not only have the best food, customer service was excellent. I always appreciate great service. Our server was Ms Nneka. The owner, staff and the food at Naija Cafe were a perfect delight. The restaurant probably should do a little cosmetic work, like lightning, flooring for a more attractive look and a great atmosphere.. Although I had already contracted a caterer b4 visiting Naija Cafe, I just could not resist their food served at my event. Now I am going to have two caterers services. I am very pleased that Naija Cafe food will be served at my event as well. Thank you...
