Subway Restaurant Online Review
I stopped at this location to order a footlong, presented my coupon when time to pay and employee would not honor it. I explained that I use the same coupon at other area locations without issues all the time. After a long period of grumbling, he permitted me to use coupon but would not let me use my app to scan to earn points. I finally told him that I would take my business elsewhere and politely asked for my coupon back, which he refused to do and started to call me every curse word imaginable…in front of other customers! I told him I planned to contact corporate and left for my car, where I saw that he had charged my credit card for the sandwich that he had refused to give to me.
I re-entered the store and showed him my bank account where it indicated he charged me for the food. I demanded either the sandwich or my money back, and he refused to do either of these. I then called the police, as he not only stole my money and/or food at this point, but I felt harassed by his cursing at me and unprofessional behavior in front of other customers.
While waiting for police to arrive, another employee (presumably the manager) arrived and I asked to speak with him after he spoke with the employee about the situation. I told him what happened and that police had been called. Not wanting to involve police, he pulled the sandwich that had been THROWN IN THE TRASHCAN and presented it to me. I responded that I was not eating a sandwich that had been sitting in the garbage. Several times he tried to give me this sandwich (which I had already paid for, by the way), and each time I refused to take an item from the garbage can. In the end, he remade the sandwich and I cancelled my request for police assistance.
I am disgusted, not only by the behavior of the employee who treated me so badly initially, but also by the response of management to offer someone food from the garbage can. This can be a health violation and cause someone to become sick. It makes me wonder what they do when customers aren’t looking, if they are willing to do these actions with them watching.
I have emailed corporate TWICE about this and they will not contact me back to do anything about the situation. If you call the phone number, you receive an automated message directing you to go to the website to write to them, which I’ve already done without result. His accent was so thick I couldn't figure out what he was saying. He seemed to have trouble understanding me too. Once I ordered he pointed to the right for me to go get my milk as if I knew where it was. It wasn't busy so it would have been nice if he had shown me where it was as older people like myself don't always see well. I didn't see the milk- it was on the very bottom. She turned on the open sign and didn’t not even actually open the store. It clearly started that the store was supposed to be open since 7am.
