On 9/6/25, my son requested that we order Papa Johns (Eldersburg) for his 5th birthday party and it turned out to be the most unpleasant and inconvenient experience. We placed an order online for 11 pizzas and scheduled them to arrive at our home at 2:30PM, so they would arrive fresh and hot for our guests. Instead, they were delivered before 1:00PM, and the driver only delivered 8 of the pizzas, 3 of which were completely wrong.
My husband first called and spoke with Megan to fix the mistake and she was dismissive and unhelpful. When I called about the issue, I spoke with the manager, Ishmael, who had the same demeanor. Rather than taking responsibility, he blamed the mistake on their website, claiming that the website must have had an issue. He also said that he doesn’t know how the online orders work; these were his words, not mine. He refused to correct the order or redeliver the pizza at the scheduled time. He told me to reheat the 8 pizzas in my oven, and to wait for the 3 other pizzas to be delivered at 2:30, even though three of the pizzas that were already delivered were incorrect. After he refused to be flexible and help correct this issue, he told me I could drive the 8 pizzas back and then he would then fix the order. Ishmael could also hear in the background both my 3.5 and 5 year olds crying because they were forced to leave minutes before guests arrived. The whole reason that we wanted a delivery was to avoid having to leave our house during the party, so I am incredibly bothered by this.
When we arrived, it took Ishmael so long correct our order and with no public restroom, 3.5 year old had an accident in the store. This was supposed to be a special day for our son, and Papa Johns showed total disregard for both our order, and our family. Poor service, poor management, and zero accountability. We will never order from Papa Johns again, and I strongly advise others to think twice before trusting them with any important event.
After this awful experience, I am incredibly disappointed that Papa Johns did nothing but the bare minimum to correct this huge error, after we spent almost $150 for a total...
Read moreUnsanitary and rude manager - I love Papa John Pizza. However this evening when I arrived to wait for my pickup order,I noticed a Papa John employee with a pizza come out and walk next door to Qdoba. He went in and came out without the pizza. So he was obviously doing a walking delivery of some sort. He was scratching his face as he returned and entered Papa John's. He immediately walked over and started touching multiple pizza crusts and the cornmeal on the counter. He did not wash his hands! I explained the situation to the cashier. She just stared. I told her I'd like to speak to a manager. She walked over and got the very employee who had behaved in such an unsanitary way. I told him what I saw. He never spoke a word to me. He stared at me several seconds, then walked over and threw a few of the crusts he touched in the trash, then disappeared into the back. Another employee walked over to the same station and used the same cornmeal to complete the crusts. I suggest keeping a close eye on these food preparers. Cleanliness doesn't seem to...
Read moreBeing Halloween I ordered my pizzas at 2:45pm for a 5:15pm delivery. At 5:30pm when my pizza wasn’t delivered I tried to call. I selected the option to check on my order status and was told by an automated voice that it was in process and estimated completion was 189 mins. Oh that can’t be right, I called back and pressed 5 the prompt to speak with a manager and the phone instantly disconnected. Tried again and was disconnected instantly. Then drove to the location where the pour girl behind the register was getting yelled at by everyone there who had already been waiting longer than they should have. Turn off the online ordering system if you can’t keep up. Have a Manager on location to deal with the back log and interact with the upset customers, and own your mistakes and answer the phones. Who ever owns this franchise clearly doesn’t care about their employees or the community that...
