I don't expect good value at an airport restaurant, but Passports Bar & Grill made no attempt to hide the fact that you are getting screwed.
There were three onion rings in the basket when my side order arrived. I asked the waitress why there were so few and she informed me that this number was dictated by management. A full order, I learned is only one more. At $9.00 for a full order, this is incredibly stingy. Considering that an onion may cost a dollar and an onion ring is, at most, an eighth of an onion, the markup on the dish is nearly 2000%.
To make matters worse, the manager was dismissive of my concerns. He told me that onion rings were normally, "plump," and that often they would "overflow," from the basket. This was certainly not my experience. From my observation the only thing these onion rings would outsize is the arm of an emaciated woman, if they were worn as bangles. Skinny, soggy and lifeless, the onion rings were about as likely to be found in the same sentence as "plump," as starvation, famine and the Donner Party.
The rest of the meal was underwelming. The salad was basic and the cucumbers in it were old. The mozzarella sticks looked as though they had come straight out of the microwave. Moreover, any chance of enjoyment I could have hoped from the meal was ended by the high pitched, ear-rending cries of Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas music.
From the atmosphere, to the quality of the food, I was left unsatisfied. Both the value of the food and the attitude displayed by management made one thing clear: you are stuck in the airportāgood luck finding something better! All in all, it was a profoundly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in with a friend prior to an outgoing flight. There were 2 or 3 other occupied tables when we arrived, and we sat at the bar. After 15 minutes the server finally took note of us and we ordered drinks. About 5 minutes later we ordered food: their basic burger and a melt.
People trickled in over the next half hour, and we watched each and every other guest receive their order, including several others that were the same as what we ordered.
Eventually an order identical to hours was taken back to the cooks and left on the counter. After no word from the waitress for a while, we asked to cash out for only the drinks. At this point we were told our food was on the grill, but looking around we were the only guests who had not been served, and we're, at this point, the first who had arrived.
We didn't request anything special, we weren't told of any error, and we weren't given any kind of notice as to why our food would take any longer than normal. The only conclusion we could come to was that service was abysmal, so we boarded our transatlantic flight without meal service
I recommend going to any other location in the airport over this one if you're looking for a meal prior to boarding. This location has singularly awful service, to the point that I cannot even give an opinion on the food because I never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I went to passports bar &grill inside the BWI airport I had been there all day with my 3 year old and only had about 30 bucks left for me and my kiddo our plane to leave at 9 ended up leaving much much later almost 1 am I didn't leave a tip on the receipt because I didn't have the money to spare for travel expenses (I am a stay at home father while my wife follows her dream if being in the military) and I believe that Jazmine H who took my order by the bar (where you place said order) after I left added a dollar under the tip area which when I finally made it to Germany put me in the negatives as I had to buy me and my daughter drinks and snacks at almost 11 pm. The food was good but the server was terrible, I contacted the airport authorities they said call the resteraunt they don't even have a phone number! So this is my way of calling out the server. If the owner wants to reach out to me do it via this review I have a copy of the receipt and screenshots of the statements from my card to prove that I did not...
