PLNT Burger — Restaurant in Maryland

I tried PLNT burger (FL Ave location) for the first time last week. I was so impressed, I thought I would pick some up from the Rockville location. Terrible idea.

To start the food had an overwhelming after taste, a cross between chemicals and burnt electric wires. There was no sear on the patty and the burger was wet, not sure if it was the sauce, patty or how it was cooked but it was so messy to eat.

I got the bbq mushroom and big burger. The mushroom burger had such a strong burnt after taste, I took one bite and threw it away. The big burger had less of that taste, but definitely enough I couldn't get more than a couple of bites in before throwing that away. I didn't see how they cooked the patty's but it almost taste like they put it in an electric fryer and then the fryer had an electric short. I thought the other location took a while to make my food, but I see now these patty's need a good sear on them to taste decent. The employees at this location were not rude, but they are definitely not cooking with care. They just slapped everything together and moved on. I hope the manager has access to see how these were made because the taste was so off it's almost like something was intentionally done to my food. Definitely an opportunity for quality control. Fantastic Customer Service from Haydee!!! Had an extremely terrible experience with Plnt Burgers nonexistent “customer service”email account with absolutely zero response after 7 sent emails! Definitely left a significantly bad taste in my mouth to continue patronizing this business, but fortunately, albeit after submitting a poor rating on my order’s after experience survey, I actually got a text follow up from Haydee! Not only did they resolve my recent visit complaint, but they also resolved my lingering issue from non-communication with Plnt Burgers email account. Then, they went above and beyond by offering a visit credit, and even when that new order was messed up AGAIN, they rectified that issue as well! Haydee is an excellent example of what elite, white glove customer service should look like and I am incredibly impressed and grateful for their help and support. The food is always delicious but it really saddens me to see the corporatization of the brand. When it first opened up they had the most incredible lunchroom chicken burger which was to die for. Then they swapped it for those ultra processed chicken patties. Which are good in their own right but pale in comparison to the former. Furthermore, the burger sizes have slowly been shrinking. I rarely feel full from one burger regardless of how delicious it is. Regardless, I do recognize that the profits may be tight, but I feel like the love and the heart of the company is slowly drifting. The DBL has been my longtime favorite behind the defunct fried king oyster mushroom burger. This was partly due to its sheer size and delicious caramelizad onions.
