Punta Cana Restaurant — Restaurant in Maryland

When we went in we told the guy 3 of us he just pointed at the menus so I asked if we can just sit anywhere because there is a sign that says please wait to be seated he said yes maybe 10 minutes lates he came over and asked what we wanted to drink we put in drink orders and he went on his way maybe another 5 minutes passed he came and got our dinner order and again went in his way we called him over because our utensils were dirty so we needed new ones no problem he brought them over 20/25 minutes later he brings our food portions were great very big and food was delicious but still no drinks we asked him when he brought food he apologized said he forgot someone else walked in he tended to them still no drinks I finally got up and went and asked for the drinking the counter which then he brought over service is really crappy but food was very flavorful...

So I can say that the notion Punta Cana (named after the most touristy city in DR) is the best Dominican Restaurant in MD is a complete insult to both El Merengue and Sajhoma of Baltimore City as well as restaurants like Los Hermanos and Mechos Kitchen in DC. With that said, I believe in the little things to be great as well as the complex receitas como mofongo, paella, pernil, y arroz con habichuelas.

So the empanadas were not cooked with love. They cooked with Perdue chicken chunks in their chicken empanadas. The beef empanadas was dry and not juicy enough. As authentic the people who worked there are from R.D., this was not the best Dominican food I have had. I'd rather travel six hours to and from Washington Heights or an hour and a half travel to Los Hermanos in Columbia Heights than eat at Punta Cana. Decent attempt, but...

I went around 2:30 pm . I asked would there be fresh food placed in the buffet I was told yes . After sitting down I realized the food was cold . I told the waiter who was chatting with his only table in the restaurant that was occupied. He went over checked the buffet said “no mam it’s hot “ . I went back over the rice was hard , the fish was lukewarm, the chicken hardened and cold . I had one plate . I tried a small portion of another dish unfortunately that was extremely lukewarm to cold. I expressed this to the waiter I also called and asked to speak with a manager to let him know that this was unsatisfactory and possibly a concern. No ones returned my call . 14$ meal 4$ tip for bad service lesson learned PRICELESS...
