I came across this restaurant as I was planning my trip to Baltimore. I sent it to my friends and told them that this would be our Saturday Brunch location.
Thanks to Yelp I added my party to the WaitList once I arrived to ensure we were in line as I anticipated a wait. Once we were all on location we walked in and we’re greeted by the hostess. Upon providing her my name she checked me in and advised me of the wait. To my dismay I learned that your time on the waitlist doesn’t actually start until you go inside and check-in. This is something to keep in mind for those who use the waitlist option. The anticipated wait time was 25-30 minutes, however, we were seated within 7 minutes. Great way to Under promise and Over deliver.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual. The design is FarmHouse themed and super appealing. The neutral color execution allows for the barn decor and doors to be the eye catching elements of the room. It is a beautiful setup and puts you in the mind of a farm fresh meal. Great thinking from whoever came up with this concept.
Upon being seated it took a few minutes for our waitress to come to our table. As the restaurant was full it was understandable. Once Emily arrived at our table she was very upbeat, full of smiles, and delivering charismatic customer service. She took our drink orders and allowed us more time to review the menu.
I decided on the Carrot Cake and Pecan Pancake with a side of Bacon (well done).
The Carrot Cake and Pecan Pancake was something new for me. I love all three elements which caused me to be excited to see what they would be like combined. The pancake does take up the entire plate just as described on the menu. The pancake has a nice balance as though it is carrot cake themed it doesn’t lose the foundation of being a pancake. I was very pleased with the flavor and portion of this pancake. I did use syrup with it which allowed the cake element of the pancake to come out. The good thing is that the syrup is not overly sweet so it didn’t overpower the flavor.
The bacon was exactly as I requested, well done. The slices are meaty and a good cut allowing you to enjoy the rustic natural pork flavor.
Emily checked on us as we enjoyed our meal. Her timing was spot on and caused us to not have a need for anything. Thank you Emily for providing us with great service.
Overall this was an enjoyable experience. From the food to the service, First Watch was a great addition to my “Gotta Go” list and I am happy I went....
Read moreMy recent visit to First Watch in Pikesville was nothing short of exceptional, transforming a regular morning into a memorable dining experience. From the moment we stepped in, the efficiency of the staff was evident as we were promptly seated, setting a positive tone for our visit. Our waitress, Q, was the epitome of warmth and professionalism, greeting us with a smile that made us feel genuinely welcomed.
For starters, I couldn’t resist ordering a side of the Million Dollar Bacon, which lived up to its name in every savory bite. My main course, the Blackberry Lemon Cream French Toast, was a delightful symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. Accompanying my meal was the Honey Caramel Crunch iced coffee cold foam drink, a masterpiece of sweet and salty notes topped with luscious cream and toffee crumbles. It was love at first sip!
My friend opted for the Belgian Waffle and Market Hash with Scrambled Eggs, a hearty meal that challenged even his appetite. He, too, was enticed by the allure of the Honey Caramel Crunch iced coffee, deciding to join me in savoring this exquisite beverage, and we both were in agreement—it was an absolute highlight.
Q, our waitress, was the cherry on top of an already splendid visit. Her attentive and friendly demeanor ensured that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. She made us feel valued and taken care of, a rare quality that truly sets apart an eating establishment.
While the location is snug and parking can be a bit of an endeavor, the incredible food, cozy atmosphere, and stellar staff make it worth the effort. The charm of this place is undeniable, fostering a welcoming environment that beckons you to return.
We wholeheartedly recommend First Watch in Pikesville to anyone looking for a dining experience that combines delectable food, exceptional service, and a warm ambiance. It’s a testament to how a meal can be transformed into an experience. We will definitely be making our way back to this gem...
Read moreBeen a long time customer here. Todays visit was very disappointing. I used the apps “Get in Line” feature while on my way to the restaurant which I have done MANY times before. The app showed a 20-30 min wait. We get to the restaurant check in with the host, she then advises there is an additional 20-30 min wait. I said wow still even though I put us on the waiting list 20 mins ago. She said yes there had been a lot of large parties. Ok cool. I asked her would I receive a text when our table was ready, she said yes. We go back to our cars and wait another 30 mins. I still hadn’t received a text. I go inside to inquire abt where we were on the list. The host was confused and wasn’t able to find us on their list. Finally she realized they marked us as being seated already. Come to find out they sat another party at what was supposed to be our table. I NEVER received a text saying our table was ready and they had the right number because I got the text stating they would text when the table was ready. The only remedy they had for this situation was that they had 2 tables completely away from each other and asked if we could split our group. We could not spoilt our group being as though we had children with us. There was no apology, no offer to fix the situation, nothing. After we literally waited 20-30 mins the first time to be told we had to wait another 20-30 mins for our table to be given away to another party. We ended up walking out with no resolution, we had hungry waiting children and they were close to closing anyway. If this is how its going to be now we won’t be returning. Very unorganized host and seating. Not happy with the customer...
