Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Maryland

I love Rita’s and it has been a family staple for many years. Unfortunately today I was greeted by a timid server and very aggressive owner. I made a simple request to have just a little less Italian ice and a tad more space for custard. The owner or manger thought it was proper customer service to express to a customer that they could not provide a service without providing a cost breakdown. Even continuing to mentioned that they would be out of business for giving out a small additional custard. I agreed to pay and ask if it could be put on the side and again was refused. I was told I could only receive the additional custard I paid for on top of my cup but they would not have a lid to accommodate the additional custard. Not really sure why he’s in customer service. We went to Rita's and purchased 5 items. One was an Italian ice and I have never had an Italian ice with fruit in it at Rita's. It was for someone in my family. He didn't know nor wanted it after eating it and finding out that fruit was in it. He was surprised fruit was in it. After asking the cashier a young girl that made everything to change it she said it was already made so she couldn't change it. We then asked for a discount if we purchased another Italian ice without fruit and she said they didn't give discounts. I guess they also don't try to solve nor address customer's issues either. Yum! We love Rita’s! Only gave 4/5 stars because it pricey so come prepared! 💰 The custard is super creamy and the Ice flavors are bold! They let you sample so take advantage of that to find your favorite flavor. I love getting the Gelati with has custard on the bottom topped with ice and then more custard on top! Delish!
