Today was my first and last time here. I ordered the chicken hibachi, and I asked the cashier if they would be able to pan fry my dumplings since they had other pan fried items on the menu. She told me "yes". I got my order and when I opened my dumplings they were very pale and soggy, they DID NOT pan fry them. If they don't do special requests, regardless of how simple, then the cashier should gave told me that ratger than misinforming me. Had I known they weren't going to do it, I would not have ordered them especially with how they turned out. I decided I would just cook them at home later on, which I should not have to do because I am a paying customer, and paid them to cook it for me. I was running errands all day so ordering food was more convenient and that was an inconvenience, because the hibachi I ordered also wasn't that great. There was barely any flavor and the vegetables were the greasiest veggies I've ever had. I get that it's hibachi but there is still a thing as too much grease which is usually used for the meat & rice. I'm not sure if their other stuff is good or not, but I'm not wasting anymore money to find out. Please don't lie to your customers, and ask the cooks if modifications are okay prior to the customer paying, not afterwards. That's poor customer service and bad...
Read moreI won't be spending any money here again. I went in for the first time and decided to order a sushi burrito. I went to ask a question about it and the woman behind the counter said they don't offer that anymore. YOU GUYS JUST OPENED! If you have already taken such a huge selection off the menu you should take the dang menu off the wall. I was pointed to the updated sushi menu which was a bunch of print outs on the counter. The print out was terrible. Misspelled words( carb instead of crab, temple instead of tempura) flooded the two page document. Not professional at all. I asked the cashier to clarify an item and she simply said I don't know. No attempt to find out just an I don't know. I tried to push past the unprofessional woman and ordered a volcano. Not impressed. My tempura flakes looked like rice crispy treats. I bet the Sakura in Howard County or DC doesn't...
Read moreHaving recently undergone a rather dramatic rebranding of their menu, Sakura Hibachi is now a make your own hibachi bowl and pho shop. I had a steak hibachi bowl, and my brother had the shrimp and salmon bowl. I also had an order of fried dumplings.
The portions were pretty generous for the price, which was around $13.50 per bowl at the time of review. I liked the rice, steak, and accompanying sauce which made for a good combination. I did feel the ratio could've been a bit better on meat to rice; however, that's a minor detail.
The fried dumplings were a bit underwhelming, with the sauce having a bit of an unusual flavor profile.
The service was very quick, so it's definitely a good option if you're looking for a fast meal under $20. One thing I'd like to see is some pre-defined menu options for hibachi, as someone who often struggles with...
