A reservation was made two weeks in advance for 10 people at 7PM on a Saturday night. We arrived early to secure our table and even though the rest of our party hadn't arrived yet, were seated promptly at 7 (one star). The waitress acknowledged our presence and asked if we wanted to put a drink order in while we waited for the rest of the group, we said sure. Two beers, 2 sodas and a Jack on the rocks, from the time we ordered to the time our drinks arrived was 35 minutes. Unacceptable!! A customer had a medical emergency in the entrance to TAP and there were a bunch of people standing around confused while trying to exit the restaurant. They were crowding our table so the manager asked us to move to another towards the back of the place while paramedics sorted the woman out. We were moved to a shuffleboard table that barely had room for 8, and no stools to sit. The staff was rooting around the bar area trying to find more seats for us. We attempted to order a couple of apps, the waitress took my order and left. The other 4 people at the table never even got a chance to order theirs. At the time my wings arrived the other couple put in their order and more drinks. The remaining 7 people showed up a few minutes later (it was supposed to be 10 not 12 originally) and the manager had us move again back to our original table. (I'll give them another half star here for being able to accommodate the two extra peeps). Once again, After taking our drink order it took 40 minutes for the drinks (12, all from the bar at this point) to get to our table. I'd have thought there would be a separate area at the bar where table drinks were prepared. But while watching the bartenders working, I noticed that they would pour a couple of drinks. Then service a bar customer. Make a few more drinks and place them in the staging area with the first, and then service another bar patron and finally finish the table order. The drinks would sit for another 5 minutes awaiting the waitress to serve them. By the time we actually ordered our food, it was 8:30. I ordered the Corned Beef & Pastrami on Marbled Rye with kraut and Thousand Island dressing. Sandwich shown below, this morning [Sunday] because by the time the food arrived it was 9:30 and it was too late for me to eat it. The staff never picked up the menus so we dined on top of them like place mats. I won't be going back to TAP at the MGM, ever. The service was horrible, the waitress kept disappearing, the order food/drinks to delivery times are unacceptable. There were other patrons standing inside the restaurant waiting for a table just crowding around bumping into our seats. The seating at TAP is a mixture of tables, there are many high top tables nearer to the bar. A few smaller booths along one wall in the bar area and several larger booths near the entrance. The outside bar area has a dozen small square tables and regular chairs. As an upgrade to the place I would recommend installing hooks under the taller tables so patrons can hook their purse in front of them instead of on the stool back. The people standing around awaiting a table and waitstaff was constantly bumping into the purses and knocking them to the floor. I know my wife would be able to enjoy here meal/drinks if she or I didn't have to keep picking it up. The tall tables tops are about two feet wide and don't provide any room for personal items and food at the same time. Parking at the MGM was another experience all by itself, We were lucky enough to park on the sixth floor one deck below the casino and real darn close to were TAP is situated. However, the elevators were slow and packed. It took till the third car to be able for us to fit (and almost 10 minutes of waiting). I'd think that with 12 elevators available they would be much quicker. There are NO steps available for patrons to use, you HAVE TO WAIT on the elevator, ONLY MGM STAFF CAN USE THE STAIRS....
Read moreOn December 18th, 2022 I was invited to attend a friends birthday party. There was approximately 20 other attendees at this party. The party was held at TAP’s sports bar at MGM in National Harbor Md. At the end of the party the waitress took several credit cards and wrote our names down besides out food purchases. When she returned I paid and signed for a bill of $27 which included the tip for my purchase of Fried Salmon Bites. I ordered nothing else that night. Two weeks later I looked at my credit card bill and saw the purchase for $27 from TAPs that I approved of. However, I also saw another purchase of $170.50 from TAPs on that same evening as well. At that point, I called TAPs sports bar and spoke with a hostess on duty. She informed me that the manager on duty was not currently available but stated she would call me back later that evening or, on the following day. I agreed. Two days went by and I didn’t receive a call back. I called the bar back and there was no answer. During the following week on January 9th, I went up to TAPs sports bar, and waited for the manager on duty. A lady name Sierra Pelts stated she was the manager on duty. She told me she would pull my receipt and check into the situation. She took my number down and gave me her business card. On January 13th I called the two numbers on the business cards Sierra left me and left voice messages after no answer. I waited two more days for a return phone call and nothing. On Tuesday January 17th, I went back up to Taps sports bar and spoke to another manager on Duty named Raynard. I told Raynard that I wanted a charged amount charged to my account returned immediately. He was completely apologetic and told me that he was messaging the financial department to sort the situation out. He gave free Salmon Bites for my inconvenience, and told me to expect a call by the end of the week. Two days later I got a phone call from Sierra. She informed me that someone at the party left an unpaid bill of some sort, and that they randomly charged my card to pay the unpaid bill that was due. I asked her how could she randomly charge my card. I didn’t make the reservations, I paid for my bill, and I was not in charge of any party. I was solely an invitee. She then had the audacity to me to try to get in charge with the person in charge of the party arrangements. I told her I only know the birthday girl and don’t know who set up the party for her or what is going on. I also stated that I should not be my responsibility to call people or pay the bill. She stated that she would get in contact with the people who made the reservations and then refund my card only if they can they get in contact with the person who reserved the party. SMH Saturday January 21, I received a phone call from Sierra Pelts at TAPS again. I had just missed the phone call, but I returned the call twice shortly afterwards and left messages. I have not heard back from Sierra or anyone at TAPs at all at this this point which is January 29th, 2023. At this point I contacted my bank. I tried to handle this situation with dignity and profressionally, but TAPs management seems to be anything but professional. I do respect Raynard for his hospitality he showed me in the...
Read moreTonight I went to Tap Sports Bar to celebrate my birthday and watch the football game. We ordered our food and my husband ordered a beer. We were there for about 15-20 minutes and the server didn't come and check on us to see if we wanted to order anything else. Our meal comes out about 30 minutes later and all we ordered was chicken wings and a salad not a difficult order and all this time the beer has not come yet. 30 minutes or so past our arrival time goes by and still no beer. Mind you during this time we received water but after that she was no where to be found. When she walks by she doesn't stop by our table so I grab her attention and asked what happened to his beer she said they were changing the tap. The beer he asked for was not available so he ordered another beer that took another 10 minutes. Now I know there's a football game on but the people who came after us received their drink order. Ok she's busy and we she has a few tables. We have to grab her attention again for the check and containers. Now she rings up the order and brings us the check and says the beer is on them. Ok that's great. Now here's where it goes south for me. She returns the check we're ready to leave and realize that she did not return the credit card. She is nowhere to be found. We're waiting and waiting 10 minutes go by. We ask another server to see if they can find her. Another 5 minutes go by so I go to the hostess station to ask for our server. Another 5 minutes go by no server so I again to the hostess station and this time I ask for the manager. I tell the hostess where we are sitting and can we have a manager. I see her tell the female manager and she begins walking around not once does she come over to see what we need. By this time another 10 min go by. This time my husband gets up and goes to the hostess station to ask for the male manager. Steven the male manager comes over to address our issue. We tell him that the server didn't return our credit card so he goes to the bar to see what happened to our card. Not once does the server come back over to check to see if we needed anything and neither did the female manager Monique. Steven comes over and is very sincere and apologizes for the mishap the server comes and not once does she apologize for the mishap and the only reason she came over was because the Steven the manager is standing their talking to us at our table. We get our card back and as I'm leaving I speak to Monique the other manager about our experience and all she can say is sometimes when one computer is down they have to go to another computer she apologize but it really doesn't seem as sincere as the other manager. Mind you that wasn't the case and had she come over to our table to ask us what the problem was she would have known that. We sat there for almost 30 minutes waiting for someone to address the issue. When a customer has an issue the manager should come over to see how they can remedy the situation. This is why I give Tap...
