On Friday, 12/20 my family and another family called and ordered take out from here. We live in the Thunder Hill neighborhood and have eaten here on many occasions and have never had a bad experience until Friday. We placed our order at 7:45pm, we were told our order would be ready for pickup at 8:15. When we arrived at 8:15 only one order was ready. The hostess was very friendly and told us it would be a few minutes for the 2nd order. We waited, and waited and waited. The hostess assured us it was just going to be a few minutes later. At around 8:48pm I asked to speak to a manager. The Senior Manager, Melissa came up with an attitude to begin with. I was taken back at first by the way her 1st appearance to a customer came across. I explained that I had my families meal since 8:15 and it was now 8:48pm and we still have not received the 2nd order. She told me it would be a few minutes (without checking). I told her we had heard that since 8:15! She then told me AFTER she was done checking out a server (I think he was getting off) she would check on the food. Seriously??? That came BEFORE a customer who has been waiting that long for their order? Oh, she did give us 2 cards for free appetizers and did offer to cook my food again since it was now cold. I explained to her we had 3 children under the age of 10 at home waiting to eat. She stormed off and checked on the 2nd order, and came back with it. When I asked her for her card because as a manager who was rude from the beginning I wanted to say something. She was more then happy to hand me the business card in a snarky way. The food was great, the first order was cold but I am just in complete shock that a SENIOR MANAGER acted this way at such a well liked restaurant. We had a reservation and arrived 10 minutes early. We confirmed our reservation with the host and told him we didn’t have an issue waiting because we were early. Out of nowhere, a server (white woman with blonde hair) comes towards us and starts yelling that we needed to wait 10 minutes. She didn’t even speak to the host about our reservation. She spoke to us as if we didn’t speak English and didn’t even wait for our response before walking away. We sat down and waited for our table and when we were finally seated we were told a server would come out shortly. We waited 10 minutes for a server to take just our drink order and never even got our drinks. We noticed our server was tending to other tables and decided to wait another 20 minutes until we realized we were just being ignored at that point. We waited a total of 30 minutes until we let the server know to cancel our drink order because we were leaving. Even as we left, no one from management came to ask if everything was okay. You would think that if a customer leaves your establishment before even getting their drinks you would want to know if something was wrong. We understand that this is a difficult time for the restaurant industry, especially its employees, but the vibe we got was not due to this establishment being short staffed, more so that we were not welcome because we were not their ideal customer. Read moreOne of my children and my husband spent the night vomiting and in extreme pain from our meal here yesterday. We will be notifying them when they open but hope to warn others. We have ordered pizza take out from here twice and been satisfied with it yet that was over two years ago. Our family of 5 went for meal dine in and everything but the 9 tiny mozzarella fritte balls was bland, inedible or caused illness. It was either the sautéed spinach or the steak and cheese that caused the illness. We also ordered a children’s cheese ravioli, a children’s penne with meatball, the seafood pasta, Cesar salad and a custom pasta of tortellini with peas and rose cream sauce. NOTHING had any flavor that would be called appetizing. Even our 7 year old who had the ravioli covered in sauce kept saying there wasn’t enough sauce because it had zero seasonings… a 7 year old! The Cesar salad was dry as could be and the lettuce was rubbery and much of it browned. We spent $130 and left at least 3/4 of the food untouched and when the waitress asked if we wanted boxes we made it nicely clear the food was not good. No manager checked with us, no offers of taking anything off the bill even though it was evident it was hardly touched. We know we take a risk when we try new places and so didn’t push it but now that two of my family members were in pain and literally sick from the food we will take the situation further.
