Long wind post coming...
Let me start by saying my family and I have loved Cedars in the past, but unfortunately don't feel like its worth it anymore. If you're looking for a good resturant in the casino, definitely do Journeys. Food quality is amazing and the staff is also!
Firstly, once covid hit, their food options have continued to be very limited and the quality has gone down hill. Along with the prices for the serving size being extremely small. Definitely dont bother with the new "bang bang chicken" you get more plate than you do food🤣 huge plate, tiny chicken, tiny rice!
And last night.... dont get me started! No where did I see anything that said that gratuity is added for a certain amount of people (we had 4 adults-4kids), but also wasn't surprised because I am aware other places do it. Unfortunately, my husband was in a hurry and paid the bill and took off before I could see it. I had every intention of leaving a tip, but was going to give less than my usual because the service from our waitress.
Firstly, the waitress we had, would continuously just walk off on us mid conversation or question. Example, my husband asked if we could get appetizers, he ordered his, I said mine, and then looked to the table to ask the group, turned back around to tell her and she was walking off. Then one of my family members was asking about something regarding on of their plates and she said "I dont know" and then walks off. She did this numerous times while we were there. Her answers were short and her attitude came off like she really wanted nothing to do with us.
When it came time for our bill, that's when it all went even more down hill. The check needed to be split 3 ways, and unfortunately when we tried to pay our bill, my husband realized he had left his card in the machine, the waitress refused to add the discount. Which was okay, whatever, my husband paid the bill and left to go back to the casino. One of my family members, because the experience wasn't that great, looked over her bill and noticed the gratuity and wanted it removed to put her own tip. The staff member told her "no, I cant do that." To which I chimed in informing here that gratuity is optional and can be removed on request. She ended up getting a managed, who REMOVED it. Then another one of my 3rd paying person of our party went to pay their bill and was told they couldn't use that card because it had her husband name on it (who was upstairs)which I informed her that the waitress had just accepted a card from the gentleman that was with us that had a woman's name on it and she said "she shouldn't have done that, ill talk to her." So because of this, I paid that bill also. Heaven forbid someone use their spouses card to pay for their meal because if it wasn't for myself still being there paying the checks, they wouldn't have got paid and I'm sure the police would have followed. The waitress still got her tip, wasn't much of our choice, and we ended up with a not so pleasant dinner.
While we understand policy and rules, there is so much double standards going on that makes it very contradicting to say the least.
I'll save the money and go...
Read moreWait was 20 minutes, that was not bad at all. We were then seated and greeted by our server. Wife ordered a cabernet, draft beers were nothing I ever drink, so I ordered a coke. I tried her cab and it was very good, so I told our server I would have a glass with my entree. I could not decide on entree, so I went to the safe spaghetti and meatballs. My wife ordered the clam linguine.
The safe spaghetti was not so safe. The meatballs looked a little over done, but were not. Taking a bite of the meatball made me confused. Not a lot of flavor, and the consistency of pate. I have never had a meatball that chewed like Greek yogurt. I asked our server if they were fully cooked, she said that they are like pate because of the lamb.
I figured I would just not eat the meatballs, but it did not get better with the spaghetti. Noodles were overcooked and soft, and the sauce was way too acidic. The bread (although very chewy) was the best part of my dish. My wife said her dish was just ok, and was better at the hook in edmonds.
2 other people came by and asked if they could get us anything or refill our drinks, that was nice. Our server came by thanked us and dropped the check. I said, "Wait, can we get a dessert menu, she replied, oh sorry. We have apple pie, creme Brulee, and chocolate cake.
I was so disappointed with my dinner, I declined dessert ( big mistake ) my wife got apple pie to go. When we got home she split it with me. That was one of the best apple pies I have ever had, with the meal was as well.
Service, wine and pie were very good, that is why I gave 4 stars. I was going to leave 3 because the spaghetti is better at a cheap Italian restaurant, but service was better than we have had in the past couple years. I hope they share the tip between the other 2 that were so attentive.
All in all, we would not return :( Except for...

the WORST service ever! I had a party of five, we walked in and was NOT greeted by the host "JASON" maybe because we were speaking another language! He asked of how many of us, I replied with "five" we immediately noticed that he was rolling his eyes and did some hands gestures showing how unhappy he was. The cafe was about %70 empty, JASON decided to place us in the first table by the doorway, so I asked him if we can sit at the second section of the cafe as we always used to sit, he again rolled his eyes and turned around talking to his Manager "OTTO" just a couple feets from us, saying "Oh my God you need to come and deal with this" I immediately told him that I heard him. So OTTO came out and I asked him if we can sit at the other section, OTTO stated that "Oh that section is closed and the host has chosen this table for you" so I asked at least to be seated on another table that is not near the entrance. After we got seated I went and looked at the other section that OTTO claimed it was "close" and it was open and guests were still dining!!. I immediately told OTTO how we felt and that was a misstatement and unprofessional from his host and him, he replied with give your name and I will get you a complaint from. After I brought my concerns to another Manager and after speaking with OTTO he decided shamefully offering me a discount of my bill which I refused.
This is far from hospitality and professional customers service, instead it was discrimination, rudeness, unprofessionalism and...
