I dined at this Maryville location on 10/22/19 and had an average experience. The food was average and the service was prompt. My issue and reason for one star comes after the meal. My server accidentally forgot to put my credit card in the bill binder with the receipt for me to sign. It was a mistake and those things happen. I did not notice and signed the bill and drove away. When I left, I drove 2 hours 45 min to Nashville when I stopped and realized I did not get my credit card back. I immedately called and spoke with a gal that verified she did have my card. I asked them to please mail it to me since I was already 3 hours away and live out of state. She said she had to check and get permission. After waiting on hold she returned and agreed to mail the card back to me. Guess what - I never got the card! I called again on 10/29 and talk to the Manager and was told they still have my card and did not mail it as promised. The "Manager" says she has to get permission from the GM to mail my card back so she doesn't get in trouble. She calls me back today, 10/30 to tell me the GM said no we can't mail the card. When I ask why, she tells me "it is illegal" to mail it. Really? When I ask why she says "how can they just mail the card when they don't have an ID or anything". She never asked me for an ID but I provided my name, company name, bank name and the last four digits of the card. If she would have asked for ID also, I could have texted her a copy. Who would even know they have the card with this much detail other than the card owner? The overall attitude and tone I got from her was just unprofessional and had zero desire to help me as a CUSTOMER. She even asked me "why can't you just cancel the card and get a new one from the bank?" I tried to explain that its my Corporate travel card and connected to about 8 other accounts but I could tell she didn't care and just wanted off the phone. Therefore - my one star review is due to really poor...
Read moreWe dined here on 8/5/2020 So many disappointments have occurred since then. Our appetizer was placed early and still did not come out by the time the meal came and so that was cancelled. The beer that was served for one of our guests at the table was warm and in a hot glass. Food was good, but toward the end of the meal we got our ticket and paid. 2 minutes later our waiter came back and said he gave us the wrong bill. The difference between the 2 bills was less than $2! He said he voided the first transaction and they ran my debit card for a second time. Both tickets posted on Saturday! I had to make a trip into the store because the manager refused to answer the phone. They submitted a ticket with corporate and said it would be taken care of within 2 business days. I should have had my money back by no later than Tuesday evening 8/11/20. I waited until Thursday 8/13 to call again because it still had not hit my bank account. I waited on the phone for over 20 minutes to speak to a manager. Manager Harrison was about the rudest and most uncaring professional I have ever dealt with on the phone. Giving me caddy remarks that he didnât know why his assistant manager told me 2 business days when itâs actually 5-7 business days. I told him this has left a bad taste in my mouth, having to chase and watch my bank account everyday which has cost me more time than I actually spent in the restaurant! I even said that likelihood of me returning is slim to none and his was response was âokâ and proceeded to hang up the phone. RUDEST customer service I have ever seen out of a manager besides IHOP in Maryville. Will not be back!!!! I even emailed corporate office giving them a chance to correct these actions. They had several days to respond and havenât. My email even clearly stated I would be posting a negative review. Truly dissatisfied with...
Read moreDELICIOUS! Extremely enjoyable and pleasant dinner with a friend!! My partner of 22 years died August 25th. This was my first time "out of the house" since his death. My friend and I visited on a Tuesday night. Fortunately, Calhoun's was not busy and the atmosphere was relaxing and low-key. Living in Florida, I have no Calhoun's. Growing up and spending most of my adult life in Knoxville, Calhoun's was a favorite restaurant. I have missed my favorite salad; Southern Fried Chicken. This is truly my FAVORITE salad ever! I eat a lot of salad and many are excellent. However, there is no comparison with Calhoun's Southern Fried Chicken Salad. This salad is HUGE! I can never finish the entire salad. It's piled high with lots of chicken and a stack of onion rings. Of course, the cheddar cheese dressing is a must! Absolutely my favorite dressing on the planet. Naturally, Calhoun's has an extended, large, diverse menu which includes steak, chicken, barbecue, burgers and sandwiches. The menu also many sides to accompany your entrées; I highly recommend the spinach Maria!! The restaurant facility and dining room was immaculate! Our server, Brody, was excellent on every level! He was attentive, but not overly so. Brody gave fantastic, friendly service, which was greatly appreciated being my first dinner out after losing my partner. Calhoun's is situated in the heart of Maryville, just off Hwy. 129 near Target. There is plenty of parking and we were seated immediately. Although we dined indoors, I noticed a patio where outdoor dining is available (weather permitting!). Calhoun's also offers a full service bar for all of your adult beverages. Calhoun's is perfect for large and small...
