Shoney's - Maryville — Restaurant in Maryville

Friendly, convenient, and very clean Shoney's. Since moving to Florida in 2017, Shoney's is one of several restaurants I really miss. Prior to moving to Florida I enjoyed eating at Shoney's with family and friends. In fact, growing up in East Tennessee, Shoney's has been a favorite my entire life. I have very fond memories of great meals and dining experiences at Shoney's throughout the decades. After visiting the Maryville Shoney's recently, I'm happy to report; Shoney's is still a great place to eat! The dining room, salad and vegetable bar, and the entire facility was very clean. The servers provide excellent, efficient and friendly service. I have now dined at this location twice, meeting friends for dinner while visiting Maryville. On each occasion, our mission was to experience the salad and vegetable bar for dinner. I am primarily a veggie/salad eater. My friends enjoyed all of it; salad, veggies and meats. I did not eat any of the meats offered, but I did enjoy the salad and veggies. The salad bar was excellent; fresh, crisp veggies and plenty of toppings and dressings. The "hot" bar (veggies) offers a wide range of veggies, soups and meats. Personally, the only negative in my opinion, the quality of the veggies. The veggies I selected had very little taste. Definitely not the quality and tasty veggies I remember from the past. The veggies were hot and plentiful. Perhaps a little more seasoning and preparation could upgrade the veggies. Otherwise, you simply can't beat the value of the salad and hot bar. Both bars offer a large, diverse selection of items. It's impossible to leave hungry! Oh, almost forgot; desserts also included. I highly recommend the chocolate pudding!! Of course, they also offer a large menu which includes burgers, sandwiches and dinner entrées. Shoney's has a great new look and very pleasant atmosphere. We had slim Jim and bake potato it was really good the service was excellent she did check backs and help all she could the cooks had vine ripe tomatoes on sandwiches recommended maryville shoneys any time thanks for a job well done from beginning too the end all who work too get your food out and serve us good food experiment.

Me and my family came there yesterday the bar food was cold the lady giving number out numbers was not going in order she was skipping all over the place coped a attitude when my 80 year old dad ask her why she was skipping people who had stand outside waiting for long time she got huffie with him and acted awful they give number out so they should go down the line in oder 1 to what ever is there last number she would take number 4 then go to 21 party of 12 and keep doing that jumping all over place I've been too shoney with my family for 3 years now and have never had too wait that long on a place too eat we were out side waiting for almost 1 hour before getting seated only because my dad stop and ask when she was gonna seat us why she was taking people after we arrived I dont know but she did it several time you know were patient but that was bad and then food cold on top of that and wasnt great all that was good about vist was our waitress she was fantastic and I left her a good tip job well done but food and hostess needs too be worked on as you can see my frist review was great but I needed too up date this one because it has changed new score and updates here now the Thanksgiving...

I must say, to use a term that Tony the Tiger would say; GREATTTTT!! I know that Shoneys Is know as the Big BOY diner but the evening food bar would have pleased Tony The Tiger in a Big way, this location dinner food was super and it also had a complete breakfast meal available as well and it was also " all you can eat"... which was very temping but I chose to stay with the dinner choices of Chicken; Fish; country streak; and such. I ate my fill of all of those items and EVERYTHING I TRIED TASTED GREATTTT, I WAS HAVING TROUBLE DECIDING WHICH ITEM WAS OVERALL THE BEST EVEN AFTER TWO SAMPLES OF ALL THE CHOICES. IT WAS A GREAT PROBLEM TO HAVE. SO I DECIDED I COULD NOT MAKE A CHOICE WHICH ONE WAS BEST. MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO AND TRY EACH FOR YOURSELF AND SEE WHICH IS BEST FOR YOUR TASTE BUDS BECAUSE MINE KEPT SAYING THEY ARE ALL GREATTT!! I will certainly have to return again to enjoy this GREAtttt Food taste and did I mention selection. I did not even make it to a fourth of the possible food choices . In addition to the GREATTTT food the food bar was very well maintained, clean, and the service was super fine at the table and the food bar. The staff are very experienced and it shows.
