Let me start with saying the food was fantastic - if that's your only concern, thumbs up.
We were on a date, had reservations, and were seated at the tiniest rectangle shaped table ever. The service was absolutely terrible. I don't know if we got a new server or what. I usually never complain but this was pretty ridiculous. After being seated, a few other couples were seated and we were still waiting for a waitress while they were being served to drinks and giving appetizer orders. We were brought a basket of bread but didn't have silverware nor small appetizer plates. When our appetizers came, still.no silverware and had to stop the waitress before she rushed off. Keep in mind that two appetizers along with the bread basket filled up the entire table. And not comfortably. Very squished and awkward. We had adequate time to finish our appetizers and then came our main course. There was absolutely no where to put it. The person bringing our meal had to ask us to lift up our appetizer platters in order for him to put down the meals. And then he walked away. We had no other option but to put one of the appetizer plates on the floor and the other two plates on a cleaned table next to us. During this time the waitress only came to check on us once. Waited for ages to get the check and even longer to get take home boxes - which in my opinion, given the entire lack of any tablespace whatsoever, the waitress should have boxed for us or at least taken away empty glasses or something. I've been looking forward to trying sopranos but was so disappointed. Thank goodness the food made it worth it otherwise I don't think I'd go back. If we do go back I'm going to specifically ask for a regular size...
Read moreFrom service to the ambience to the tasty food, Sopranos gives its customers an A+ experience! I cannot wait to return. The restaurant is roomy and cozy at the same time, with photos of famous Italian-Americans on the walls, a spacious patio, and a lovely staff. But the food -- fantastic! Everyone in our party was raving about each dish, from the pasta fajool soup to the angel hair pasta to the broccoli rabe, no morsel was left behind as we sopped up our plates with Sopranos' outstanding bread. (The bread is complimentary and comes with a trio of olives, olive oil and roasted garlic, and roasted peppers -- so good!)
Vegan note: Nothing is designated as 'vegan' so you have to be creative (I wish vegan options were clearly noted on the menu...) All the regular pasta is made with eggs, but the gluten free pasta is 'accidentally' vegan -- so I had this with olive oil and garlic, and added a vegetable side for a terrific, very pleasing meal. The gluten free ziti is delicate, light, and tasty! (Another reviewer here had a bad experience with the gluten free pasta, noting it was 'falling apart' but I want to assure you mine was perfect and excellent.)
COVID-19 Note: There is in-house dining on a limited basis, and COVID-friendly outdoor seating area -- I felt very comfortable dining outside, well spaced from others and all servers properly masked. We were asked for contact info in case contact tracing would be needed (though the restaurant has not had any incidents or sick staff). They are truly trying to keep their customers...
Read moreI’ve had some good meals in my time… but dinner at Soprano’s Restaurante in Falmouth? That was next-level. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we’d stepped into a cozy coastal trattoria where every table was buzzing with happy diners and the scent of garlic, herbs, and baked bread wrapped around you like a warm hug.
Let’s start with the food because wow. We ordered a mix of classics and house specialties, and every single bite was a love letter to Italian cooking. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauces were rich and layered, and the seafood? So fresh it could’ve swum to the table. My entree, the seafood risotto, was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate how ridiculously good it is. I’m not proud of how quickly I cleaned my plate, but I have no regrets.
The staff was friendly, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what they do (as they should be!). And the setting? Comfortable, a little upscale, but still relaxed enough that you can lean back, sip your wine, and stay awhile. Which we did.
This is the kind of place that sticks with you not just because of the food, but because of the feeling it gives you. It’s hospitality with heart, and it absolutely earned a spot on my “must return” list for next year’s Cape escape.
