I am visiting and was brought to Cape Cod Coffee by my friend, who is a local, because it is "amazing." My friend noted that she has been to Cape Cod Coffee multiple times for business meetings but wanted to come for some drinks. I am always down for a boozy brunch! When we arrived, the restaurant was busy and there were no tables available. We were offered the bar and were happy to saddle up. I ordered a "Brewed Awakening" (cold brew with coffee vodka and Irish cream) while my friend ordered an espresso martini. Both were delicious! The martini was very strong and very much enjoyed! For food, we ended up ordering a "Sup Burger" and a "Chipotle Lime Turkey Burger." The beef burger patty was a bit bland on its own; however, the caramelized onions and tomato jam were delicious. My friend said the turkey burger was amazing. Overall, the food and drinks were very good. However, I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the service. When ordering, I asked the bartender what she would recommend - she said she doesn't really eat anything here, and today was her last day. A staff member who can't provide a single dish immediately sends red flags for me. Once we received our food, we had a fine time eating, chatting, and enjoying our drinks. The restaurant is open until 4pm. It was 2:30 and we were the last two in the place. We were asked multiple times by multiple servers if we were done, so they could clear our plates. No, we weren't done. My friend asked several times, "Isn't the restaurant open until 4?" Each server replied with a yes. The bartender had dropped the check earlier, which I thought nothing of. Then, she came and asked if we could pay the check so she could leave. I paid the check, the bartender left, and the rest of the wait staff cleaned around us. As a former server, I understand wanting to leave early; however, if you have customers and you're open for another hour to an hour and a half...you're open. We finally got up and left without anyone offering us a thanks for coming in or acknowledging we had been there or were leaving. My friend very much enjoys the food here and has had very positive interactions in the past. If not for her reviews, this would have been a one to two-star review from me. No matter how good the food is, poor customer service will always leave a sour taste...
Read moreHuge, bright, clean, open space. Partially open kitchen. Full-service from 6:30 - 4....impressive hours for a cafe. Seemed well-staffed. Full bar. They seem to focus on coffee beverages and mimosas. Wine list is small, and doesn't seem to be their focus. Variety of seating options afford large parties. Decent amount of patio seating available. Great breakfast menu with excellent options for vegetarians. Breakfast bar is cool. Very quiet background music...ambient hipster coffee shop music. Servers use personal toast devices for taking orders. Food was hot and presented well. Fried homies as opposed to sauteed. Burrito was a smidge wet, but with nicely balanced curry flavor. Good, heavy silverware. Food came very fast. Burrito needed some acid. Mushrooms were fresh, pre-roasted, and had good texture and flavor. Espresso was served in a proper ceramic vessel, not too big to allow all the heat and crema to disperse. Espresso notes were dark, with roasted hazelnut, vanilla, chocolate, and with a minimal burnt flavor. Some acidity there.... but on the lower side. Crema was intact, and looking good. Staff works together and pools everything. Good service. Baked good came late so couldnt enjoy them together...sad. Ideally, baked good is brought with the espresso. Pistachio muffin was green but hot. Fragrant. Butter was room temp, allowing ease of spreading. Strong pistachio flavor....pistachio paste used? Used walnuts, not pistachios in the muffin. A touch sweeter than I'd like. Overall, I am very grateful to have places like this on the Cape. While not catering to coffee purists or baking aficionados, it offers enough options to keep most pleased while having such an abundance of food and beverage options elsewhere to keep almost anyone happy. Impressive staffing despite labor shortage suggests great ownership...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Cape cod Coffee for a new experience. We were told it was 30 minute wait. We were told by one of the waitresses to sit at the lunch counter. Well, we sat at the lunch counter. My friend went to the bar, because there were no seats at the bar to get us a drink. We got a simple tonic, which cost us $29. In the meantime, a woman came out of the kitchen with two trays of clean glasses, and sat No them in front of me and ask who told me I could sit there? I explained the waitress that I could sit there now I’m annoyed. A second person comes by and ask who said that I could sit at the lunch counter (yes, there are seats there) mind you I’m an African American woman who lives in the town of Mashpee. Now I’m getting an attitude! Eventually, hostess comes by and we ask how much longer for us to be seated. She says oh, the kitchen is closed and they are no longer able to serve anyone. When were we going to be told later on in the afternoon? later on that evening? the next day? Extremely poor service, not to mention the last time I use Cape Cod coffee was in Sandwich and they put somebody else’s order on my credit card including my own. I had to call my bank because NOBODY answered the phone! No need to worry I will never ever visit either one of your sites again. To be sure your staff was rude, insensitive and uncaring with the exception being one waitress and the one bar staff. I would not recommend...
