It hurts to put two stars on here because I love Brueggers food. First of all the girl making my sandwich today was so sweet and kind, so was one of the male managers (I didn’t catch his name because he was just getting off work, he was a very tall black man) was kind to me and my sister and made us laugh after a very weird/disrespectful encounter with the other manager, John.
I’ve seen other reviews talking about the manager John and I’ve been in on multiple occasions while he’s working and his attitude is completely disrespectful and rude. I understand people have really tough days, I should know because I used to work at this location years ago during Covid. But every time I walk in and see this man at the register I dread talking to him because he’s rude every single time. From the other reviews I can’t understand how he still works here.
I walked up to him today and tried to get off on a good start and said “Hi, how are you?” And he just stared at me frowning, annoyed that I was waiting for him to answer. I said “okay, cool” to joke away the awkward/passive-aggressive silence. He then asked what I wanted and I said “a half dozen of bagels and a few sandwiches” and he rolled his eyes and said “yeah well, we’ll see if we have that because we barely have any left, like five kinds.” (After finishing my order, there were only like three bagel flavors that were out. There were plenty of bagels) I just stood there for a moment and considered asking him if he needed to take a second and let someone else come to the register. As I told him my order he was hitting the screen with his finger and rushed me through my order saying “is that it?” And I’d have to almost shamefully say “no”. Even when customers aren’t speaking to him, he’s rolling his eyes, making negative comments, full of attitude. I can't imagine having to work in the same space as him. The man is reeling with anger, I’ve considered writing a review multiple times but having worked there before I...
Read moreOriginally from Upstate, NY where Brueggers are popular so when I heard there were Brueggers in Charlotte, I got excited, but the excitement is gone. Nothing like Upstate, NY run stores. I have been here 3 times after church and each time is a new adventure from did not get order right to cold coffee to no friendliness. This past Sunday, June 16, 2024, we went after church as usual and I asked for a few bagel sandwiches and a large coffee. They close at 2pm. I got there at 1:08pm because I remember looking at my watch. The girl smiles and says, "All we have is cold coffee." I looked at her and said, you close at 2pm and you are already acting as if you are closing? I want coffee, I said. She then doubles down about only cold coffee. We asked to speak to manager. Girl goes back to speak to manager who comes out, does not even acknowledge us, looks at us as if we have 3 heads and begins to prepare to make coffee. Meanwhile 8 more people come in, many of whom want coffee as well. The order comes out and still no coffee. I go up to counter and ask and girl says, "Oh yeah. Your coffee." She hands the large cup to me but it is so filled to top that I burned myself getting it over to table. The three stooges could do a better job running this place. It is a dumpster fire. The food is good. The service is beyond horrible. Between sandwiches that we ate there and 9 bagles to go, we spent a small fortune and got little or no service....
Read moreJOHN NEEDS TO BE FIRED!! From the moment, I stepped up to the counter to place my order, John was rude. He rolled his eyes at me when I ordered and proceeded to act extremely put out by the fact that I was there. When he plopped my coffee cup down on the counter in front of me, which I must add was covered in water or coffee on the outside of the cup, I kindly brought to his attention to the massive amount of coffee grounds in the coffee… His response was, “there’s like one in there”. And again he continued to roll his eyes and seem extremely annoyed. After he finally took the time to look into my cup, he offered me another type of coffee and proceeded to dump out the entire pot. Then when I got my order, the bagel was not correct. The kind young gentleman making the bagels confirmed that John did not enter my order correctly. Maybe if he had not been so busy rolling his eyes at me he would’ve gotten my order right. The worst part, is I think this man is the manager!! When I sat down to eat my food and make this review I noticed all of the other horrible reviews on here about John. I, like a lot of the people making these reviews, have been coming here for years. This John guy needs to go! How many bad reviews do you need before you...
