808 Plates Maui — Restaurant in Maui

This is a food truck that is located on the Target side of the Lowe's parking lot. Aunty at the window was pleasant and friendly, food was ready quicker than expected. Truck plays Hawaiian reggae music. You're given a ticket with your order number on it and it is announced by Aunty when you're a food is ready. Had the ribeye and garlic ahi katsu combo plate, $21. The ahi katsu is not a traditional katsu with panko breading. It's a bit hard fried crust and fish is fully cooked with a garlic mayo and a garlic reduction poured over it. I prefer the seared foodiecocket ahikatsu I've had elsewhere. No seasoning on the actual fish or in the coating, only in the sauce and the garlic reduction. The ribeye is chopped up into small pieces with I would say a good amount of fat left on that keeps the rest of the cut flavorful. Nice amount of seasoning that could have been better dispersed but that's just personal preference. The layer of rice under the ahi and the ribeye is there just to catch the juices so it doesn't all soak through the recyclable plate but still very good and yummy. Ono! If you're visiting Maui, and you're looking for a place to grab a bite to eat right off of the plane, I highly recommend this little gem in the Lowe's parking lot! On our most recent trip to Maui, we didn't feel like sitting down at a restaurant after our flight from California. We found this place via Google and are so glad we sought them out! First, the customer service is top notch. We were promptly and kindly greeted. Second, the food is amazing! Everything is made to order, but a 10 minute wait is totally worth it. I got the ribeye steak and garlic ahi katsu condo plate. My husband got the ribeye and shrimp, and we shared with our daughter. The ingredients tastes fresh, and the sauce on my ahi katsu was divine. This is such a great find, especially finding it almost immediately after landing in Maui. There wasn’t a line when we visited, but there is an option to scan a QR code to order & pay if the line happens to be long or you’re just feeling introverted (lol)

Anyway, this business has great food & great service! My husband & I got 2 combo plates - a ribeye & Korean chicken combo & a garlic ahi katsu & garlic shrimp. Each plate lunch comes with white rice & salad. We’re also appreciative that the drinks were stored in an ice cooler, especially since it was a hot afternoon. The food was so good that we devoured it (lol)
