Been here twice today. The blond employee (didn’t catch her name) was hands down one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Our first experience was phenomenal. Second time around we had the same gracious server who reassured us to let her know if we needed more syrup/anything else since I had requested slightly less in my second ice. On the way to the pool, I had a few bites of my shaved ice and 2 out of the 3 flavors weren’t very good (that’s on me, I just didn’t like the taste). My little sister went to ask if they could remake my order with just tiger’s blood which was delicious btw. I said I would be more than happy with just a tiny one since I know I didn’t pay for a third ice. The angel employee was helping her previous customers in line so my sister talked to the other girl. She was incredibly snarky and told my sister “um you know you have to pay for that right?” My sister didn’t know what to do so she came back and offered to buy me a brand new one. I said absolutely not, this is not what any establishment should condone. In the end I got nothing and ended up throwing away three-fourths of my dessert. First negative experience that anyone in our entire group has had on this Maui trip. We are so used to the Pono and Mahalo that people express here. Very...

(Side note, there is a one star review for this place that the reviewer wrote "the 5 star reviews are misleading". No they are not!! Those of us leaving 5 stars loved it. Just because you didn't like the taste doesn't mean other 5 star reviews are misleading.)

I really loved their stuff. Awesome mac nut ice cream under my shaved ice. Amazing tastes. The best shave ice I've ever had. I used to be a pastry chef and this was better than most desserts I've had at restaurants. The only thing I noticed is depending on who makes it it can vary from very densely packed (and lasts longer walking around) to loosely packed (that melted immediately) but both were so amazing I loved it all. The staff all are friendly.

They can customize your order. Prefer a little syrup just ask for less. They are sweet, if you want something for refreshing go for a kombucha. It's a sweet treat for a Maui day.

Big Wave Shave Ice Company should be a definite stop during your visit to The Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, Ka'anapali.

The ice is soft and the flavors are bursting with refreshing deliciousness. We tried several and all of them were a hit. I recommend adding the macadamia nut ice cream and snow cap.

As if the delicious treats weren't enough to bring you over, the staff here are unbelievably friendly. We had a good allergy concern and they quickly helped us find out what was in the flavoring. They made great suggestions and chatted with us as we waited.

Again, this should be on your list. There can be lines during busier times and it's not hard to understand why.
