Pailolo Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Maui

I love the food here but the bartender was very rude. We sat down at the bar and said hi to the bartender twice but got ignored. My friend and I ordered pina coladas. I left my id in my room and didn’t want to grab it so we got virgin ones instead. No problem there. I asked to pay separately and he said it wasn’t possible and took my phone proceeding to pay for drinks. He then said “you can buy your friend a drink”. He’s right, I can and do but In my opinion though that’s not for him to decide! I work as a bartender and if a customer wants to pay separately we cater to them. We have wanted to order food, he gave recommendations and once we were ready to order he then told us we could no longer sit at the bar even though we had been sitting there for 10 min at this point. We moved to a table and when the server greeted us found out the bartender never put our food in. I’m not a Karen guys but the bartender was weird asf and unprofessional. Well, it's an outside sports bar with TVs. And it's the service bar for the non-family pool at the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort North. So it's got hotel prices, but hey, you signed up for those when you came to WKOR.

It's also got really good food. We had the Ceviche Tostadas, and they were very fine. Very, very fine. Prepared in the food truck kitchen parked adjacent to the bar. No, really!

It gets rowdy, as a sports bar should when a game gets close and the partisans of the teams get excited.

Oh. And they have live music in the evening, too. So what's not to like?

Well, the couple of weeks we were at WKOR, the satellite service was a bit hinky. Nothing serious, just a permanent service-interrupted call-your-provider message, covering up the bottom of the screen where the score usually was....

Sigh. ...

I gave it 3 stars cuz the service was awful but the food and drinks were amazing. We arrived to find a waitress bussed a family of 3's food from their table when they got up with their small child to explore. The waitress replaced their food. We receive our drinks (tropical monkey, double) and my husband spilled his before he even had a sip. We informed the same waitress that we needed a new one. This drink wasn't cheap. While she did get a towel to clean it up, his drink never came. I finally had to go to the hostess in the middle of my meal and explain what happened. 10 minutes later my husband had his drink, after he had finished his meal. Not one person said sorry or gave an apology of any kind. They were busy but not crazy so there was no excuse. The monkey drink is excellent but I don't know if that's enough to make...
