I have been to this place many times as I have visited Maui with my family almost yearly and normally the service here is amazing with kind workers who know how to handle stressful rushes. However, when I came in today I was incredibly shocked to see the behavior from whom I’m assuming was the manager. He had a grey beard and gold earrings, I was unable to get his name. Coming into the store, he removed an employee from the register stating “my patience is running thin”. I understand stress and pressure when rushes happen, but the way he was treating my father who is a loyal customer coming to this location is every time we visit was despicable. He was rushing him and was incredibly rude saying things like “you need to wait”, when my dad accidentally spoke too quickly. He also snapped at my father when he asked about drinks. Instead of simply stating there was fountain drinks, he snapped and said “you don’t need to tell me all the drinks. Just tell me the number..” in a tone that was observantly irritated and disrespectful toward any customer. My father was very kind by keeping his cool and not addressing the managers attitude, moving forward without trouble and finishing the transaction calmly. I found that behavior completely unacceptable and very off putting. Like I said before, this place had NEVER disappointed before, it’s upsetting to see such a wonderful place be mismanaged by someone who doesn’t know how to go to the back and take a breather. The way he was treating the other workers was horrendous a well, and we did not get the extra toppings we asked for, yet we paid for it. As someone who is presenting themselves as the manager, I truly...
Read moreI took notes while I was sitting in the restaurant so I could recond what happend with accuracy.
We ordered a falaffel sandwitch, a grilled veggie kabob platter, and some dolmas. He was a short thin man with wire frame glasses and a nearly shaved head with a receding hairline, maybe in his 30s. When they brought our food, they brought my wife the wrong order...some "ala cart option". My wife said that wasn't what she ordered, and asked if that was maybe our friend's order. He said, "No, I heard you, you ordered this." She said "I know what I ordered, because I wanted rice and this doesn't have rice". He repeated himself, and said someone else served her (our friend). Our friend said "I did order the ala cart", and he put his hand in her face and said "I don't know you." I was too shocked to say anything right away. Before I could, he said "I will get you some rice." He came back with some rice, and I decided to keep my mouth shut, and write this review instead, because I was livid and wasn't sure I could control my temper.
I worked in food service growing up. I know people have bad days, but reading the other recent reviews, I think this is a pattern. While I can condone gruff behavior, I can't condone abuse. At no time did we behave rudely (that is not us), and we were both not drinking (I did order the Pineapple Dole Pina Colada, but that was all I had that day). I have also managed a restaurant, and would have fired someone on the spot for behaving like this.
My friends reported the pizza was good, but our mediterranean food was bland, the veggies were somewhat undercooked. We...
Read morePretty disappointed. I went to Pizza Paradiso as I live very close and thought the experience I had the first time would continue. I was wrong. A few days ago I ordered the smaller size margarita pizza for myself and paid $25, the man at the register let me know it would be 18 minutes. I waited outside for about 10 minutes and came inside where it was cooler. I then kept waiting and waiting and waiting until 35 minutes had gone by and everyone else around me had already finished eating. I went up to the counter and asked about my order and got confused looks as if they had never heard of a pizza in their lives. The worker said it would be right out. A few minutes later a different lady came over to me and said they had given my pizza to someone else and she would have one ready for me very soon. Annoyed, but also very understanding I let it slide. 20 more mins passed. as I was getting up to ask for a refund, the sad little pizza was brought out. I waited almost an hour for this tiny pizza?! Was it a joke? The very least they could have done was made things right. There were no apologies, no discounts, refunds or anything of the sort. They couldn’t even hook it up or put more than 3 slices of tomato on the pizza? I will NEVER return to this place simply on principle that they do not take care of their paying costumers and wasted an hour of my life with no regard. Get it together Pizza Paradiso for the customers you...
