Mana Kai Maui 202 through Vacasa Beautiful location, crummy Vacasa communication made fixing problems challenging and a lengthy process. Would stay at the hotel again but NOT through Vacasa. The hotel location and property are fantastic. The room left a few things to be desired and the communication with vacasa to resolve it was a nightmare. The refrigerator initially wouldn't get below 50 for 2 days, causing all of our groceries to go bad. We were told to put the fridge at the coldest setting, which on day 4 froze all of our groceries (buying the same groceries 3x for a family of 5 is very frustrating, takes time away from vacation, and is costly). All communication went through texting the main vacasa automated teller and the text was then was routed to different remote techs each time. This made for a frustrating experience (retelling all the details each time via text, getting conflicting information/direction, having to catch the tech up on what had already been discussed, no ability to speak to a live person, etc). It was nearly impossible to get them to give me the contact information for the local staff. When I was finally put in touch with local staff (10 days into an 18 day stay and only after sharing safety concerns after a random handyman came to the door saying he was a construction worker there to do repairs, repairs to items we had not complained about and were not notified ahead of that the man would be coming by) the local staff were satisfactory in their response to the issues up to that point and then great with direct texting regarding subsequent problems (eg both toilets running, the deadbolt to the main door not locking). However, only a small fraction of the details about what had happened prior to me being able to speak to the local staff were shared with the local vacasa staff by the remote Vacasa techs, so I had to catch the local staff up and tell the story about the refrigerator and stranger at the door for the umpteenth time. Regarding the unit, the view canât be beat and the location is amazing. However, inside the unit it was outdated and flawed. The closet doors were all broken and two were almost impossible to open and close (my husband had to lift them to carry them open and closed). The mattresses were very old and had sunken in spots where people had laid on each side for years that made it hard to get comfortable and sleep and caused my back to hurt. The pillows were also very very cheap, and I am not a pillow snob so thatâs saying something. There was also a night security guard who was very abrasive and rude to the parents of kids roughly age 15 and under who jumped into the pool, even if this was done so safely from a standing position (ie not running) feet first (ie not diving or doing a cannon ball) in the deep end of the pool. The security guard at one point said that he cared about children hitting their heads and backs and getting hurt even though the parents must not. Several parents including myself were offended and frustrated with him shining flashlights in our faces and repeating the same thing over and over. It became a point of frustrated jokes among parents at the pool in the evenings that guard worked. The hotel manager of the Mana Kai Maui, not affiliated with Vacasa but who got us put in touch with the local Vacasa staff after the random unexpected handyman came by unannounced, was very nice and responsive and seemed invested in his guests enjoying their stay. I would stay at the Mana Kai again, but NOT with Vacasa. We were...
Read moreMy family and I absolutely loved this property. When we initially found the property on vacasa we thought the windows looked like they had fake photos or window coverings to make it look like it had a beautiful view. It just looked to good to be real! (we have had this happen in other properties before..) but no, the view really is that spectacular, from every window in the place. The kitchen is large and has everything you need, both bedrooms are a nice size and the beds are large and comfortable. The property was newly updated and is in excellent condition. Everything was perfect except for the heat. This is our 15+ trip to the hawaiian islands and 5th to maui and this was the hottest we have ever been. It is probably our fault for booking in july, but we have stayed at places without a/c before (tons of properties in hawaii do not have a/c) and this was by far the hottest. The ceiling fans were loud and did not move much air, it was hard to get a nice breeze, and the other fans provided were pretty dirty. I say all of this not to say not to book this property, on the contrary, i would absolutely recommend this fantastic property. I would just strongly advise against going when it is super hot outside or advise you to bring along or purchase a few fans. We will potentially stay here again because the place is simply perfect and the views are breathtaking, we just cannot do it again...
Read moreMaui kamaole b210 was clean, comfortable and air-conditioning worked great for our family of five for 10 days. Don't over pack, there is a very nice washer and dryer on 1st level with sanitizing steam setting! Trash and recycling bin was close by. 2 pools were nice. Condo was close to several beaches. We could see the sea from the main balcony. Outside closet had 2 body boards, a small cooler and 4 beach chairs. Plenty of books and games and an extra chair in dining room closet. It was nice to see plenty of beach towels, complimentary bottles of hair and skin products, toilet paper, laundry soap, dishwasher soap pods and a small bottle of dish soap. Kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, utensils and dishes. We even added an upgraded wine opener. Lots of extras left by other renters, ie. Salt and pepper shakers, some spices, reynolds wrap, plastic wrap, some ziplock bags. Bring more ziplocks, soft toilet paper and large trash bags, and reef safe sunscreen. Wi-fi and cable worked great. Had a problem with garbage disposal stopped working, but it was fixed quickly. Water filter on fridge needs changed or bring a new one with you. We all used our individual water bottles and filled them up with store bought filtered water. A $40 filter from home would have saved us time, energy and...
