I will always cherish & miss all of my Lahaina Town childhood memories. There was a ton of special occasions spent at Warren & Annabelle’s Magic. So when I saw Coco Deck Kitchen + Bar Lahaina was hosting a Tuesday night 4 course culinary experience with David Kuraya for a magical evening. I already knew, I had to go.

I figured I’d treat my parents to an early Mother’s Day outing. Plus this was all of our first time to experience the show plus the restaurant. My mother & I were both excited about the pre-set meal. We both ordered the Mahi. My father on the other hand wasn’t impressed with the menu & was set for ordering a steak. But since it wasn’t included he settled with a veggie bowl. (For future shows, I’d recommend having an upgrade option to either add or replace a protein. Since even another gentleman at our table mentioned he was craving chicken.)

As for the magic show drink menu. I was impressed, the Alba-Cadabra with gin, lavender, lemon & butterfly pea blossom is absolutely delicious. This must try drink is displayed beautifully & is poured at the table. Plus the Shazam Shot is by far the coolest shot I’ve ever ordered. With pina colada, charcoal, edible glitter & coco foam. This shot was presented like a pristine miniature drink. Not only was it so freaking cute but every drop was mouthwatering. Plus I was mesmerized by the glitter, it was simply magical. As for the Cosmic Cosmo, it was missing that magical wow factor to tie into the show. I’d recommend trying a flame or smoke presentation to not only get the person who ordered it jaw to drop. But also everyone who sees it will be asking what is that & I need one.

As for the show, from the start I noticed David Kuraya making his rounds throughout the restaurant. Doing a meet & greet with each of his guests. This I thought was a very cool way to help make this experience memorable. Plus I didn’t realize he has a line of coffee too. Which Kuraya coffee beverages should be offered on the menu. With the option to buy a souvenir bag to take home too. Over all he’s very entertaining & a great magician. Was definitely a fun show & my next visit will be for a date night.

Until next...

The service was good and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We started with Margaritas and they were great but on the small side. We were disappointed with our food considering the price point. Our total bill was $360 for 4 adults and two kids. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa (3 types) was served in one dipping bowl and after dipping a few chips into become one mass of blended salsa in a hodgepodge of blended flavours. We had to ask for chips because there were not enough served.

We ordered the big deck bowl with fresh ahi. It was the best dish we had but at $40 needed more ahi and lacked some flavour on the other ingredients. The ahi donut was cute idea but an epic failure. A deep fried seasoned breaded fish paste shaped like a donut topped with fresh ahi… stick to toro root chips or crispy wonton chips. Not a fan of the donut!

The ceviche was very watery with to much moisture almost like a soup. Flavours were average and was light on fish. The chips served with the ceviche were the same chips served with the salsa…. Switch it up !!

Lastly, we ordered Cesar salad with Brussels. One with chicken one without. The salads were over dressed for our taste and made the salad soggy. The chicken on the salad was bland and dry.

I want to see restaurants thrive and be successful in Maui, unfortunately unless some changes are made at CoCO customers will not come back. Right now it’s overpriced...

As a mom of four, finding a spot that balances a lively atmosphere with family-friendly vibes can be a challenge. Coco Deck Lahaina exceeded our expectations, becoming our go-to for the best happy hour experience on the island.

From 2 to 5 PM daily, Coco Deck offers a fantastic happy hour with 50% off select appetizers and a $5 food and drink menu. The kids were thrilled with the variety, and my husband and I appreciated the quality and affordability.

The oceanfront setting provided a picturesque backdrop, allowing us to relax while the kids enjoyed the open-air environment. The staff was incredibly accommodating, making sure our family felt welcome and comfortable.

A special shoutout to our server, Niko, whose attentive and friendly service made our visits memorable. His recommendations were spot-on, and he engaged with the kids, making them feel special. It’s no surprise that other diners have praised the excellent service and awesome vibe at Coco Deck.

Our experience was so delightful that we returned for a second visit during our trip. For families seeking a happy hour spot that caters to both adults and children, Coco Deck Lahaina is...

Located right off of Front Street, Coco Deck is a solid restaurant choice for anyone in the Lahaina area. Parking is not good on Front Street so be prepared to park at The Cannery and walk over just like we did. When entering the restaurant it looks ocean and modern, both the outside and inside fine options to dine at. We sat on the outside as the sun set and it was great. If it is too bright or windy then can lower a screen in front of your table at request. The menu is solid and pricey although not too diverse and the service was pretty good as well. For food we ordered the assassin burger and hot chicken sando. The burger was good, pretty standard stuff., The fries that come along with it are funky fries which are a combo of classic, curly, and sweet potato fries (tastes better than it sounds). The hot chicken sando was a slight letdown. It was not spicy at all and it began to fall apart in hand due to the sauce and how stacked it was. It was still a good sandwich, just a bit off on the execution. Ultimately the food was still pretty good and the view certainly helped. This is a great dinner spot if you don’t mind spending some extra money.

LAID BACK BAR & GRILL The view at Coco Deck is fantastic. You are just across the street from the sun setting on the ocean and they have shades to keep you comfy from the son. Bring your sunglasses! Pretty bangin bar food that has a lot of potential for amazing. We liked our chips and dips, but really liked the Lahaina Boy hot sauces. Food is mostly delicious and well-prepared, but it took 40 minutes to get our main dishes after our appetizers had arrived. No big deal for us, as our kids are late teens and we had nowhere to be after supper. I LOVED the poke on Caesar concept, but wish the Brussels sprouts had been fried longer, as they were essentially raw and tough to eat. Cocktails are super fun. The panda was favorite! Make a reservation on OpenTable to avoid long waits. There were about 30 people waiting for a table when we arrived, but were seated right away because we had a 5:45 reservation. I can see why they require a credit card guarantee to reserve and am 100% ok with it. It was hotter than Satan’s balls in the “inside” dining room where the big TVs are so I would definitely try to avoid that spot for seating in the sunset.
