Oh my gosh, you guys, I just stumbled upon the most epic little gem in Paia—Story Maui Café! I mean, I walked in expecting a quick coffee fix, but I left with a full-on love story for this place! The coffee? It’s like a caffeinated hug from a Hawaiian sunrise—smooth, bold, and so good I nearly proposed to my cup. And don’t even get me started on the bagel sandwiches—holy moly, they’re like the rock stars of breakfast! I had one with cream cheese and lox that was so tasty, I’m pretty sure it winked at me before I devoured it. The vibes are chill, the staff are basically your new BFFs, and the whole place feels like a cozy nook where you’d write a bestseller—or at least a hilarious Yelp review. This space has undergone a recent transformation and I love what it has evolved into. Still the same wonderful coffee shop, laptop and/or chat vibes as BT...but yooo. First off, there's the smackin Ramen and hot sauce. Also, they have delicious breakfast items and pastries and delicious espresso drinks. I attended the story event on May 19 about feeling lost. As tourists the two of us did not feel particularly included as the host did not greet us, nor ask us if we wanted to share a story, even though he went around the room asking mostly everyone else. We did not find the stories shared particularly interesting or significant in a larger sense to be shared publicly. We found the food to be overpriced as well.
