Big Dave Eats here, straight from Nana’s Kitchen in Mauldin, where I indulged in a freshly made, piping hot sandwich—so hot I burned my mouth! 🔥🍽️ Nothing beats that fresh, homemade goodness that’s just too tempting to wait for. I actually live in Asheville and had Nana’s for the first time last week. I love good food, so I ordered two plates….and yes they were for me lol. Anyways, while y’all say mmm she is greedy, she must be a big back…. Mind your business and let’s get into the plates. So I had meatloaf, Mac n cheese and green beans with corn bread…. And I’m glad my windows are tinted so folks didn’t see me licking my fingers and humming to myself when I ate that food. The meatloaf is A1, had the ketchup on there and everything! The mac n cheese was cheesin!!! And the green beans were good also. Now that dang cornbread was slap ya mamma good, like I should have got cornbread on both, but I digress. Now the second plate…. And yes I pinched off the second plate while eating the first. If you have had the food you know why. The second plate was fried fish, whiting, with slaw and potato salad. The potato salad….. who made the potato salad….. somebody with the big arm that’s who!! It was on point, cole slaw was cool, and that fish!!!!! I had one or two bones, but that ain’t them peoples fault, sometimes you catch a stray. That fish was seasoned and fried to Perfection! It wasn’t a lil anorexic piece either, two nice size fillets. If y’all read this far go on down there and visit them people!!! It’s Monday…. And I’m patiently waiting on Tuesday so I can drive down this good lil mountain to restaurant depot and get two more plates from nanas! Yes…. Two, I eat one for dinner, get out of my business.

Visiting Simpsonville was at a loss when it came to where we would eat lunch. But after googling I found this restaurant. A hidden gem in a small town Nana's kitchen! Once I read the story of how it all begin, I knew this is where we would eat! Found a quaint small takeout restaurant. The owner took our order after waiting in line. Seeing people leaving with bags and smiles, Let me know that we found the right place! I loved that the kids menu was at kids level. They could make their choices easily. The owner took our order after waiting in line & Recommended the Pork Chop. That was a great choice. Only three small tables & stools at a bar did not give a lot of space but Tony explained they only planned for take out when they opened for business. That explained why when I asked for the restroom to wash my hands, there was not one. I have never eaten at an establishment that did not have a restroom but our world changed since the pandemic so I guess I will have to adjust. During busy turnover we did get a table but had to clean it ourselves. A star was lost for atmosphere because of no bathroom & no sanitizer on each table to make up for that lack. Thankfully Publix had a clean bathroom & only a block away so we rushed there after getting a Pork Chop dinner to go!! The food was good , hot & fresh. Staff was friendly & very welcoming. Felt like home.

Ok! Listen…. First let me say, this is an honest review. Check my credentials and you’ll see my reviews come straight from experience. I wasn’t given anything monetary for this review. Here it goes……

RUN DO NOT WALK to this place! My first time was absolutely AMAZING! The professionalism when you first walk in the door was everything. Once they realized it was my first time, they gave me suggestions and stood there to answer any questions I may have had. Now let’s get into the food!!!!

This food, LAWD HAVE MERCY;THIS FOOD!!!!! Help me Jeezus! Between the orders we had the Fried Chicken, Chicken Strips, Pinto Beans, Squash Casserole, Broccoli Casserole, Mac and Cheese, Potato Salad, Cornbread, Rolls, Lemonade, and Nana’s special punch! This MEAT was seasoned ALL THE WAY TO THE BONE! The sides were so good you really may need a second plate of sides just for later! I have to be honest, because I give great reviews, I tried to find something, just a LITTLE something wrong but I couldn’t! When my order was ready , after being cooked FRESH, they even opened the door for me and My hands were not full🤷🏽‍♀️

In closing all I can say is JUST GO GET IT! I don’t think there’s anything on the menu that wouldn’t be worth it. Great job guys!!! I am very connected, and as a bonus for your hospitality, I’ll definitely make sure Nana’s Kitchen in Mauldin SC is well connected also! GOD...
