TL;DR: the gravel is horrible for the dogs. They allow intact males which is known to cause problems. Outside of that, the place is amazing.
I used to go to Off the Chain all of the time. I even had my sonâs 4th birthday party there. Everyone was great.
Staff is still amazing and I have zero complaints about the staff or service.
That being said, the gravel is AWFUL for the dogs. Gravel can put a lot of stress on your dog's body and can put them at risk of injury to their legs, paws or paw pads. Since I have a large breed dog who is prone to hip and leg problems, the gravel is a major concern for me. My biggest issue, albeit my fault for not reading more carefully, is they allow intact male dogs. Most dog bars/dog parks do not allow intact males or unspayed females. My dog has never shown aggression to any animal and was having a blast until an intact dog showed up. My dog eventually got into a scuffle and we were asked to come inside. My dog was not the only dog to get into a scuffle with this intact dog, but only a few people saw the first time. I was so embarrassed, but also turned off by the fact they allow intact males. I also saw âregularsâ dogs get into scuffles and they were not asked to come inside. I havenât decided if we will cancel our membership, as I love the staff and atmosphere. We might just need to go on slower days and leave if an intact...
Read moreI engaged Sean to train my 1 year old German Shepherd female and it was one of the best investments of my life. She was a typical GSD puppy⊠stubborn, curious and refused to recall. A sweet pup but more than a handful and very difficult to take out in public.
After completing the 3 week board and train program, my pup is absolutely incredible. She comes, sits, lays and heels on command, only needing gentle reminders from her e-collar when we are excited. I have been able to take her on long walks, hikes and out about in town. Often with no leash for hikes and her loose leash walking is impeccable around town. I can comfortably bring her with me and know Iâm in complete control. After several months, she continues to retain her training and working with her has become a passion.
Sean gave my pup and I an opportunity to live a whole new and stress free life. I highly recommend Sean and his board and train program. The best in Greenville...
Read moreMy little fam bam (me, my husband, and our pup) have come here quite a few times. We are new to the area and finding such a dog friendly place got us all very excited!
Staff is great, warm, and welcoming! The beers on tap offer a great variety too.
Our first visit, we did not know that our dog needed to be in their system in order to play outside, off leash. Did we cry about it or complain? Nope, we handled it like adults (underline the word âadultsâ) and got the necessary paperwork for our future visit. It gives us peace of mind knowing that all dogs playing together are vaccinated and safe.
I guess if youâre an adult child who resorts to digital temper tantrums when you donât get your way, go to a regular dog park that the city offers. Donât be surprised when no one picks up the dog poop with no guarantee your dog wonât come home with something. More...
