Visiting Joe’s brings on all the feelings of nostalgia. This adorable local ice cream shop smells absolutely delicious upon walking in. Their in house waffle cones are fresh and delicious. They carry so many flavors of ice cream that you’re bound to find one you love. If you have a little one who’s not digging the ice cream idea, they carry raspas (snow cones) and frozen chocolate covered bananas as well. We love visiting Joe’s!

I love love love this place!!! It's a classic spot for the city of McAllen. They been around for a while now and the owner is super nice and friendly!! They make all of their ice-cream and cones right there in the store. They have sundaes, shakes, ice cones, floats, banana splits... Just so much to choose from!! My favorite ice cream is the almond pistachio or praines... Chocolate chip is good too!

Loved it!! They have so many varieties if desserts and ice cream flavors they also have raspas!! Friendly staff and perfect place to bring the kiddies or anyone actually and what’s better it’s cheap they have a variety of prices based on the desert type but aren’t gonna pay and arms and leg like most places give them a try my picky eating daughter loved it and that’s saying a lot!!

1st time customers. Really stopped for our dog. 🐶 first.

Got a pup cup for our 14 year old cocker. With ice cream all over his face he gave it 2 paws up!! Note: Just vanilla ice cream in a Styrofoam cup. No frills, like dog bones or bacon. Thought I'd mention that because some establishments do things "special" for a pup cup.

Notice at registers state discounts if you pay by cash. We did not. Next time we will have cash on hand.

Special today: The 5 scoop special (your choice of favs) with 3 toppings & whip cream & a cherry in a waffle cone bowl. So many choices for Ice cream & all 5 were great.

Only 1 recommendation for this special, the waffle bowl was kind of thin. So it was breaking and toppings began leaking after 2 or 3 bites.

Plate could be bigger under it and/or the waffle cone bowl could be thicker with the 3 syrup toppings to prevent premature leaking.

Sorry no photos from us this time, as it was hot outside and melting fast, we just ate & enjoyed.

We'll go back again and maybe try a cone, frozen banana 🍌...

The girls were amazing. Took our order and it was perfect! They were very nice and friendly with a big smile. The place smelled so clean and delicious. The ice cream was fantastic. Every flavor we got was so good. It has chunks of cake and cheesecake in the birthday cake and strawberry cheesecake ice cream. Also there were big pieces of cherries in the cherry vanilla and black cherry ice cream. Took me back to my childhood. Excellent. Highly recommend this place if you are wanting some great flavored desserts. They have so much to...

Howdy y'all , this is a well known family business , i been coming in here for a long time , you will always be treated with respect , if y'all ask me , to me is the best ice cream place in town , you will not regret if you come in for any flavor of ice cream , i leave whit a big smile and feel like a little kid every time is priceless y'all , good service , family atmosphere and awesome ice cream what more can you ask , will i or do i recommend it that is a 5 star...
