10/5 stars ā Marco the Barber Changed My Lifeāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļøāļø
Came in for a cut, left with a whole new existence. Sat in the chair, and Marco hit me with the usual, āWhat are we doing today?ā I said, āWhatever you think would look good. Iām not looking for anything specialāIām just trying to look decent since my life feels like a mess.ā
He didnāt even flinch. Just nodded and said, āSay less.ā
Mid-trim, I start ventingāmy rentās overdue, my girl left me for a guy who sells elotes preparados, my 3-legged, deaf, hairless puppy needs surgery, and Iāve been separated from my family since the age of 7.
Marco puts the clippers down, looks me in the mirror, and says, āWeāre gonna fix this, king.ā
Next thing I know, he pulls out a stack of cashānot to flex. No. My guy slaps it into my hand and says, āTake care of your rent. And keep the changeāgo buy yourself something nice.ā
Then this man proceeds to hand me the keys to one of his many exotic carsāa Lamborghiniāand says, āItās just sitting in the garage. Go be great.ā Before I could even process what just happened, heās already on the phone with a luxury pet surgeon, scheduling my dogās operation like itās no big deal.
A few days later, Marco personally organizes a fundraiser called āRun For Roverā, raises $50K in under three hours, and emcees the event in a tux and his little barber gloves from TikTok Shopāaccompanied by two very good-looking Russian women. Then casually tells me he already set me up on a date with one of them.
As Iām walking out, fresh cut and tears in my eyes, he hands me a folder. Inside? A DNA test, a map, and a plane ticket. āGo find your family,ā he says. āTheyāve been looking for you.ā
MARC doesnāt just cut hair. He heals. He rebuilds. He resurrects. And he does it one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all, The Spot is my place to go for great service. I have never had a bad experience. (It'd be cool if you all would change up the music once in a while to Rock also lol.) I digress. I always stick to one barber, my barber. He knows me and he knows my hair. Secondly, I am well aware of the $20 fee (on your next visit) for late cancelations 3 hours or less, or no shows if you made an appointment. A few days ago, 2 hours before my appointment at 12 o'clock noon, I received an email stating that my appointment was canceled. I called my barber who explained the situation, an emergency he had to tend to. Totally understandable, such is life right? My barber was going to be on vacation for a week, and mentioned he could fit me in at a later time which I could not do. I was left to go through another barber, who did a great job, if it was what I asked for. I still paid full service plus 20% tip. A few months before this. I had to suddenly cancel my appointment within an hour of my scheduled time due to rushing to the hospital because my dad was being rushed to the ER. Upon my next visit, I was required to pay the $20 cancelation fee, paying $54 in total. I asked my barber if the fee could be waived because of my emergency, but I was told it was policy. Look man, I dont think it is right to be canceled on last minute with no compensation, after I was charged extra for the same thing. In both situations there was an emergency and both cancelations were last minute. Emergencies happen, you cant help it. I paid what I paid plus tip, with no complaints. Even after not receiving what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually get a great service at this place, but today It was really bad, lack of common sense for customer service. I did not have an appointment i just walked in and had a haircut from Alex ( that's the name the guy gave me when I asked him what his name was ), he did a good job with the haircut.
After he was done and I paid for the service rendered to me I decided I wanted to try out a pedicure from that same place, they have a man spa, the only lady working during that shift was busy with another client, there was nobody waiting but me, so I sat down to wait for my turn. After approximately 30 min. Of waiting Alex (THE GUY WHO JUST HAD CUT MY HAIR) walks in, talks to the pedicurist, and then he (Alex) tells a customer who just sat next to me that he is next.
The annoying part of this is that after telling his client that he was next, he (Alex) then asks me if Im getting a pedicure, I said yessss, and then he asks me "did you tell the pedicurist that you want a pedicure?" I said no, but she saw me that I've been here for a while, he replied to me that since I did not ask I never had a spot, so the guy who just got there was next. What doesn't make sense to me, is that before approaching the pedicurist, he could've asked me first if I was getting a pedicure, and he knew that I was there first because he was the one who just had cut my hair 30 minutes ago!! Maybe I gave the impression that I was enjoying watching other people getting their feet massaged and that's why I stayed an extra 30 min....
