Overall, I had a good dining experience for my first time visiting Prado's with one slight hiccup. In short, the food was excellent.

My visit started off a little awkward. It became quickly evident that the small staff was swamped. There is no host to greet at the door. This may be partly due to the size of the restaurant space. So, I walked up to the counter where I spent a few minutes with no acknowledgement, but I patiently waited. After a few minutes, one of the staff looked up and directed me to a booth.

After being seated, the waiter was quick to get me started. Within a few minutes, my order was placed.

My first taste of the Prado experience was their Jamaicada agua fresca - a blend of Jamaica (hibiscus) and limonada (lemonade), which was a first for me. It was delicious and I gladly had a few refills. I couldn't get enough.

After debating through the options of ribeye dish variations, I settled on the ribeye steak along with mac and cheese and mushrooms.

My plate came well-presented and freshly cooked. My ribeye was cooked just right (medium-rare). It was tender, juicy and flavorful. I devoured every last bite. The mac & cheese was decent. It was like Velveeta Mac with a quality noodle. I prefer real cheese. It was balanced and not overly cheesy. The mushrooms were OK.

As I was eating my meal, their Friday-night rush was building. A large group had entered and taken up a large set of tables as more customers were lining at the door. As a result, my waiter was MIA. It was clear they were prioritizing the larger tops over a solo diner.

After waiting, I stepped away to wash my hands. When I returned, I shockingly discovered they had turned over my table within just the few short minutes. Maybe they thought I dined and dashed?!

So, I stepped to the counter. The waiter and manager were apologetic and voiced the pressure to handle the rush to seat customers. I understand the pressure of food service. However, I also got the impression that they prioritize regulars.
