Wendy's — Restaurant in McAllen

I love Wendy's but for this specific review I will be honest. Think of it as constructive feedback. It's a great place for breakfast biscuits, nuggets and frosties. They are awesome! Reason for 2 stars is due to cleanliness and de line in burger quality. Now lets talk cleanliness, it's a hit or miss. The floor is sticky. This is probably due to the drink station is located right next to door. The condiments station is a mess. Most times there are multiple dirty tables so we just carryout if we are inside ordering. Hoping this changes especially due to Covid Era we live in. It was not like this but it has declined over the years. Restrooms need regular cleaning like other restaurants but it seems like they are neglected most of the time. We used to frequent this place two to three times a week with my kids. Love the four for four deals. We now visit about twice a month via takeout or drive through for sausage egg and cheese biscuit and bacon egg and cheese biscuits for breakfast. Now I know working in a fast food establishment is not glamorous, I did this when younger, but would it be too much to ask for service with a smile. Absolutely terrible customer service by the two managers working on August 5th, 2024 at around 10am. I purchased a chicken asiago combo and when I asked if I could get a single Cholula sauce I was told no by the male manager when I told him I was willing to pay for it he still refused without much of an explanation. I asked the cashier if there was another manager working if she could go ask and she did and was also told not to sell me the packet of Cholula sauce because what I ordered wasn't the breakfast burrito. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and I can't understand why management is willing to lose a loyal frequent customer over a hot sauce packet I was willing to pay for. Seriously, over a single sauce packet, it's not as if I was trying to buy the whole box of sauce packets. Poor cashier was super apologetic, she even seemed embarrassed by her management team's poor customer service and attitude. If the owner reads this just know you have rude and terrible managers. Overall, the food wasn’t horrible, but the cleanliness was a little disappointing on my last visit. The restaurant smelled of dirty mop water and the floor was soaking wet from where they had mopped. Literally everyone was slipping and my husband completely fell all the way to the floor. The wet floor sign they used was completely faded and couldn’t even make out what the sign said. I almost fell all the way down too but, luckily caught myself with the condiments counter(note: I’m 4 1/2 months pregnant)... food came in a fair amount of time which was good, so no problems there. Went to the bathroom at some point during my visit and noticed all the stalls were filled with urine (which technically isn’t the employees fault), but when I tried to flush them down before using, they would not flush. Not even the slightest bit. Not to mention the French fries that were scattered around the restaurant that never got swept up by employees walking by.
