Passing through the area on a Sunday drive, we stopped at Burra Burra for lunch with a party of 3. If you take anything away from my visit, it’s “keep driving”. In all seriousness though, there’s an amazing smelling pizza place across the hall that we wish we had tried instead.
We walked inside and spoke to the hostess who put our name on the wait list. After waiting passed our estimated time with no call to be seated, we checked back in ourselves and were seated within a few more minutes. The frustrating thing with the extended wait was the inside was virtually empty, and the outside patio wasn’t filled to capacity.
Once we were seated, we got our food and drink order in. As we tried to order, we were told that several things we wanted were out of stock. We ultimately landed on the fried pickles, the Ultimate Club, the Hulk Smash Burger and the 1929 Sandwich. In addition to multiple entrees being unavailable, we were told their standard side of “River Winders” were out of stock as well. My wife asked if she could get the sweet potato fries instead and was told it would be an upcharge. On the menu, sweet potato fries cost less than the River Winders, and they want to upcharge even though the regular side was unavailable? Fine, whatever…
The drinks came out followed by the fried pickles which were so salty they were absolutely inedible. We would have sent them back but our waitress was nowhere to be found. While we continued to sit at the table, we watched other tables around us be seated, order and get their food before us. Very frustrating…
When our entrees eventually came out, it was delivered by a different server which wasn’t a huge issue, but they were in and out so quick we didn’t get a chance to send back the pickles or even get a drink refill.
The club sandwich was actually pretty good, but from there the rest of the meal was pretty disappointing. The 1929 sandwich mostly bread, and the burger didn’t come with the bacon as advertised. By the time our waitress finally appeared to ask if we were ready for the check, the burger was cold. The waitress offered to bring out bacon or to go see if she could remove the upcharge for the fries. So your solution is to bring me something that should have been included at the beginning, well after the food has gone cold or to remove an unrelated upcharge that shouldn’t have been charged in the first place? Cool… Also, we never got a single refill on our drinks until the bill was paid.
Ultimately, we left disappointed, still a little hungry and frankly a little angry due to the quality of food and service in relation to the cost. We definitely...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin. We got there Saturday afternoon and chose to try it because of the spot on the river. There was an hour wait, which was no big deal. We get it...it was Saturday at lunch. We shopped around until they called us to tell us our table was ready. We got seated outside with a beautiful view of the river. A waitress came to take our drink and appetizer order. We ordered our drinks and two appetizers. About 20 minutes passed without receiving either and a different waitress came and asked what we would like to drink. We explained we had already ordered those and she said could take our order. We then ordered our food with her. Another 10 minutes passed and a different (3rd waitress) brought our drinks but one of the appetizers was incorrect. She stated she would bring the correct one. Another 15 minutes passes and original waitress came back and said sorry it took so long and asked what we wanted to eat. At this point we felt like we were int the twilight zone. We explained we had already ordered and she said that the other waitress didn't know what she was doing and took our order again. My mom decided to change her order to a smaller meal. The waitress apologized and we waited again. Our food was brought out about 15 minutes later and guess what? It was the original order! They had to go and put in my moms order and she had to wait while we all ate. I honestly have no words. The food was okay, it was warm and seemed like it had been sitting there a while. They didn't even to offer to discount our meal! I had to go to the bar to request our check because no one came back to our table after our food was served. We come to this area multiple times a year with big groups and have never ate here before that visit. It would be hard to give it another chance. It felt totally...
Read moreI’m going to post a handwritten letter your GM wrote and gave to my wife after, getting within four inches of my face, becoming hostile, and yelling at me, all as I was trying very hard just to get out of the booth and let my wife deal with her due to the fact I don’t return hostility with women. She admitted to my wife that it was only due to her having a quote “Bad personal day.” This problem began because you have new card systems that absolutely nobody in your establishment knew how to use. Also for public knowledge, if you have a gift card to any of these places that you haven’t purchased within the last three weeks as the GM put it, and you don’t have the receipt, it’s now useless. On top of the horrid experience, it was 43 dollars for five chicken tenders, with a side of macaroni, and four cheese sticks, me and my wife had to pay a split plate fee of four dollars for sharing. It took almost three hours for them to still not figure it out. Beyond disappointed, will never return. The response to this is laughable and a completely false statement. This was most definitely a problem generated by your faulty card system, and I did not become irate until you came within four inches of my face Karen. You claimed I had an attitude, you got within inches of my face, you raised your voice first, and continued to berate me as I was walking towards the door to leave, that’s when you yelled for me to leave, after I was already up, after I had calmly asked my wife to handle you, after you flipped your lid. You’re just a sad, washed up Karen. Do not attempt to contact me again. You harassed me and after a minute of it I walked out and asked my wife to handle it. So don’t lie Karen, you’re a total piece and I’m letting any potential...
