Valerie's Taco Shop — Restaurant in McKinney

I want to be fair about this place: (We bought 18 tacos for our family that just came from San Antonio to visit-this is a compilation of their opinion, Friday Night Dinner Time)

The Diablo Taco is their best taco. Tasty compared to the other tacos. Also, the tacos are big and filling and two tacos would definitely be enough for any individual.

Other than that, this place is a disappointment, the food was vey bland and the carnitas and carne Asada tacos were very tough. The guacamole lacked that zesty touch that lime provides. The kicker was feeling the smooth edge of the tortillas, clearly big brand days old store bought tortillas. The combination of all these factors results in a inferior quality product. Given the prices of the tacos, they are simply not worthy.

The main improvement this place can do is get “fresh homemade” tortillas. For a place to be called a “taco shop” it is imperative to have the freshest tortillas not days old Mission tortillas.

Idk if we just came at the wrong time but idk how any one can say this place is great. Yall can keep your California style tex mex in California. Got a soft taco (5 bucks) and I get this tiny corn tortilla with a scoop of meat on it. For 5 bucks?? One review on here said their soft tacos were big. I almost busted out laughing when I got my "big" soft taco. 5 bucks for that tiny little thing is a joke. I also got a chicken burrito. Very bland and soaking wet in grease. Wife got chicken quesadillas and it was basically the chicken burrito but cut into pieces. We were extremely disappointed in this place after reading some of these great reviews. Anyone who says this place is great either has no taste buds or needs their head examined. Very tasteless food. This is chain is from California? Too bad it did not stay there. Ate the fried Mahi taco thinking it would be great but was very disappointed at how bland it was. Tried two crispy shredded beef tacos and wish the meat had some sort of flavor instead of being so flavorless. For the prices they charge you would think the food would be tasty. Save your money and go somewhere better.

7/18/22 Acted like a customer in your store so not really sure why your making it seem otherwise in your reply. Your food is disgusting and unless you improve it your not going to make it. Califorina has awesome food normally that's why it's so shocking the food is disgusting. I didn't even bring up the yucky nachos my sister hated and returned for gross flautas that was made with the same disgusting shredded beef that tasted rotten. Your establishment is going to make...
