I booked a king suite with a whirlpool through Expedia. The whirlpool pool was the deciding factor for me to spend extra for this hotel and room instead of one of the more affordable hotels on the same block. Since I was booking it for that same evening I selected the non-refundable option. We eagerly anticipated the whirlpool all day.
That evening we checked in. There was a bit of a language barrier between me and the guy that checked us in but ultimately he gave us a key and we were good to go. We get all they way up to our room and there is not whirlpool. In fact, the room looked completely different.
I checked my booking and made sure I ordered what I thought I did. Then we went back downstairs to show them our reservation and let them know of the mistake.
By that time a lady was working the counter. She first told us that they couldn't give us the room we booked because it was under renovations. Then she said it was an "accessible" only so we couldn't have it. Then just flat said it ws not available.
In asking her why we weren't told that at book in she basically told us to either take it or we could leave. When I asked her if we could get a refund since the room we booked was unable she said nope. Because we had booked it under non-refundable.
I asked why they would allow an unavailable room to be booked and she said its because Expedia cant see that its not available. So I asked for the managers business card. She stated he didn't have one and doesn't work a regular schedule but that he may be in the next day. She wrote his name on a piece of paper which is match the plaque on the wall.
Because it was late and we were tired we gave up and went to the room they gave us.
While in the room I contacted Expedia. They placed me on hold an said they attempted to contact the hotel with no success. They apologized and offered me a $20 voucher towards a future booking. I let them know that didn't even make up the difference between the room we got an one of the more affordable ones on the block nor does it make me feel any better about this scam not happening to anyone else. They told me sorry, $20 was the best they could do. I elaborated why it was so frustrating then they offered me a $50 voucher. I asked what does that do to prevent them from doing a bait and switch again and was basically told there was nothing they could do. Ultimately I conceded and went to bed.
The next morning I attempted to see if the manager was in so we could discuss the situation and I could check out. Unfortunately there was Noone at the desk or anywhere around and then I saw the box directing people to drop their cards in it as the check out process. So I'm assuming that they may not have someone at the desk in the morning which seems odd. But considering the rest of my experience I'd guess it's their way of doing things to not deal with unhappy customers.
Ultimately it felt like a bait and switch scam. Added bonus, the bathtub was filthy. Like streaks of dirt down the sides. I took pics but can't include them for...
Read moreMy interaction with the staff upon arrival at 10:00 PM on a Friday night was well. The staff are actually pleasant and helpful. When I got in, I checked in, and went to my room we were gone from the hotel all day Saturday as we had a three-night check in. Saturday, evening we returned around the same time as the night before. When I went into the restroom (room 206) I seen a baby roach in the bathroom, and another on the wall. I immediately called downstairs and talk to a pleasant woman named Janette. She was the same woman from the night before. I said miss, there is roaches in the bathroom. She said, we can see about getting you another room, and I said okay, and then she said Well wait let me ask you how long you have been here I said exactly 24 hours in five minutes. She said, well I'm unsure if I can get you into another room. I just got here if you give me an opportunity to look and call me back in ten minutes, I can see what I can do. I said well what about a refund she said oh they won't give you a refund you have been here for 24 hours. I said, well ma'am did you know you had roaches, and she said I can't answer that and hung up on me. I told my children to get dressed we were leaving, as I went to the front desk. Jeanette was servicing new guest I stood their quietly and I didn't say anything. It was a woman and her husband and their daughter. She looked over at me and said can I help you, I said yes, I just need to know your name she said oh your room "206?" I said yes ma'am, but I have decided to leave and that is when Jeanette's pleasant personality freshly went out the door. I said ma'am I just need the first initial of of your last name as I'm going to make a report. She started, yelling and screaming telling me to leave and it doesn't matter as she is with her guest I said ma'am you have roaches in this hotel that is why I'm leaving it's fine you do not have to give me your name I will report in the morning as she continued to spat to me to get out, and leave, it had nothing to do with her customers as I am her customer.
The hotel manager - never contacted me about resolution to this property, and they only refunded me for one night that I didn't stay. When I contacted headquarters, they tried to reach out to the hotel manager and yet again no response.
This hotel lacks cleanliness, professionalism, common courtesy as I still have yet to receive...

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would
This hotel is the worst we've stayed in the whole of America
When we first arrived we were rudely greeted by the staff who said they can't check us in 15mins before the time because of the hotels policy.
Upon arriving into the room we found it to be very dirty, a musty smell and dust all over
The beds had not been made, the sheets had brown stains and the amenities were just thrown all over the place.
The towels had stains and the bathtub had mould
The lamps didn't have a lightbulb
The trash had just been left there
The bed wasn't attached to the frame properly which ended up having some metal plates sticking out which I ended up hurting my leg on
There was an included "breakfast" which consisted of watery coffee and tea and some cereal - we ended up having to order out instead most of the time.
Despite all of this we requested to have the room cleaned again as we are quite accommodating people but apparently due to the hotel policy we weren't due a clean until the 3rd day of our stay - on which they did not clean it either they just replaced the towels. So despite numerous requests and attempts we stayed in the unclean room for the duration of the stay. The hotel policy clearly states if we would like more frequent cleaning then that can be requested but this clearly was not actioned.
Our biggest concern was with the manager Maulik. He was very rude and had an attitude problem. I don't know where he learned hospitality or how he got the position but he is not fit for running a hotel. He is rude and short.
He even threatened to charge us if we were not out of the hotel by 11am as we were making a complaint. There was no accommodation for our requests or needs or consideration of the issues we had during our stay which I felt he took personally rather than professionally. The hotel did not offer us any compensation and were just rude about the whole experience.
Overall, the hotel is very dated and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. We stayed at the hotel on the merit of the reviews so I feel this honest review will help others make there choice.
I have attached all the pictures in the review for evidence as I feel people need to see the real hotel not the...
