Food was very good and the portions were right sized.
They offer a really neat and delicious bar for sauces and topping enhancements, like pickled onion, picked carrots, and hot and mild peppers + many really good sauces (mild and my fav hotter offerings) I was really impressed with those and they complimented the dishes we had.
They did not offer table service when we were there. Apart from taking my order at the bar and dropping off food to my table, everything else is on me to do so as I'm not being provided service, I should not be asked to tip. They do request that and I respectfully declined as there is no table service apart from preparing and delivering the food.
The atmosphere is simple a few pics on the wall and TVs. Not really comfortable enough to go here to watch the game and spend some time. Also with the order at the counter only, you are not going to go here with a group and a la carte your CC Everytime you want something else. There are some TVs on the walls but they are pretty high up compared to the seating.
The layout and process to get thenga after ordered didn't flow well for us also.
You order and pay at that time at the bar, then go get a table to wait for food delivery. Normal for many places
for us, 2 of 3 food items were delivered. 1 missing so we waited for the counter person to come back with that item.
I got up to get sauces and topping. No cups so you need to ask for those. Got 4 from the counter person, they have ~10 different offerings and we wanted to try most so I needed more cups but the counter person was in the back. Waited a bit then I just used some towels they had vs waiting longer
Got up a 2nd time for plates. We ordered 2 appetizers we were sharing but no plates were offered when we got the food.
Got up a 3rd time to ask about our 3rd item we didn't get get. They made that and dropped off to our table very quickly. It was the original Corn and that was delicious... also thumbs up to the carnitas quesadilla and the nachos.
got up a 4th time to get a box for the food we didn't eat
So to summarize: Our food items were really good and the prices felt right for the offerings. Atmosphere is simple and not why you come here. Service was quick and polite when asking for something. You just need to come with all your wants at 1 time.
Sodas water and tea are self served. Some beer selections behind the counter. No tabs, pay as you go and tips are asked for on the receipt
Now that I know the drill of what to ask for up front I am looking forward to trying them again, maybe take...
Read moreTaco Tuesday all the way! Visiting Louisville for the first time from Canada -hubby and I shared six tacos with a side order of rice and beans. If you choose to have just one taco you can also have small side orders added as a combo for an additional 275 otherwise the sides were each under $3 for those pictures in the attached. The soft tacos were well presented and most of all delicious. The sidebar of Salsas and condiments- including pickled onions jalapenos carrots multiple types of salsas and jalapenos and onions- allowed each individual to customize their particular taco adding to the overall experience. We tried six different kinds of tacos including steak chicken pork pork and pineapple fried fish and deep fried fish. We both especially enjoyed the fish and fried fish tacos with the green creamy salsa. There is nothing I would change- the service was fast, the food was delicious and based on this being Taco Tuesday it was an amazing economical meal. Just as a side note the tacos that are on sale on Taco Tuesday or the soft tacos but there are a variety of other items on the menu to satisfy any other particular Mexican food craving. The staff were exceptionally helpful - the manager was very kind when we were confused about the options and provided support to make it a wonderful experience. The restaurant and washroom were both very clean. We had beautiful weather and they had the patio doors open which made us feel like we were in Mexico. Presentation of the food itself was exceptional - when you look at the picture you will see how fresh all of the toppings are on each Taco including cilantro and fresh lettuce and guacamole. We...
Read moreTheir pricing is all out of whack. Their basic burritos are $9.95 and only come with meat, salsa, and guac - no other toppings (NOT EVEN RICE OR BEANS!) For any additional toppings, it costs you $1.25 per additional topping. Beans? +$1.25. Rice? +$1.25. etc. This seemed crazy to us... some of the cheapest food in the world (rice and beans), not to mention a literal staple of burritos... being charged at such a premium. especially b/c the "Pollo Asada Burrito Bowl" is only $9.99 and comes with chicken and tons of toppings at no additional cost, but if you wanted to get the same exact toppings in the "Pollo Asada Burrito" (in a tortilla instead of a bowl) it would cost you $17.45!! So essentially, just to add a tortilla to the burrito bowl = $7.46 more. We were blown away by these prices especially for the portions you get. It didn't help that the cashier misunderstood when we asked her about this odd math when ordering, and she assured us it wouldn't cost extra to add those to any of their normal burritos. Only for them to turn around and charge us for them after literally telling us they wouldn't. Because of this, it was $32.52 for 2 burritos, and my wife was still hungry after eating hers. My burrito tasted like it was 60% tortilla, and they used iceberg lettuce for a big portion of the filling. Definitely not worth the nonsensical high prices. I could go to a national chain and get better ingredients in bigger portions for nearly...
