Great selection of shoes and just about every thing running you'd need.

This was my first experience at Swags and as you can see I did walk away with a pair of shoes. The shop has an excellent selection of running shoes, likely the best in Louisville. They have all kinds of other gear like clothes, packs, socks, gels, etc.. the staff were really nice and welcoming, the shop was clean and well organized, and prices were pretty on point with anything you'd find online. No complaints about selection, customer service, or prices. So why 3 stars? A couple reasons. The first being the biggest, not a lot of area to "try" out the shoes. I was told I couldn't touch the asphalt as this would scar up the shoes and make them unable to be sold. I was pretty shocked as when I have shopped for my last couple pairs of shoes I was given the option to run as far and as long as I wanted wherever I wanted. This was of great benefit due to really trying to make sure you get a shoe that you can wear for 300+ miles without any aches pains or issues. I was at least allowed to run up and down the sidewalk area (~.05 miles) as much as I wanted though. The other complain I have is if I am unhappy with the shoes. They pretty much said unless they're in mint condition I'm stuck with them if they don't work out. Again at the other shop I had been buying from I had 60 days to decide if I liked the shoes or not. If I didn't then they'd swap them out for a pair I did. I understand this warranty is pretty uncommon for shoes but it was kinda lame that they didn't have anything better than "sorry you're stuck with them." I'm sure you're asking "so why the heck didn't you go to the other shop you've bought from?" The answer is they didn't sell Altra shoes which was the brand I was wanting to test out. As I said I ended up leaving with a solid pair of shoes. The staff were helpful and welcoming and prices were great. My suggestions is coming up with some test shoes for customers OR getting a treadmill for runners to to test shoes...

My sister has 3 kids and she buys all their shoes at Swags so she recommended I buy my 7 year old daughter shoes there. So I went in at 6:30 and they close at 7. I asked the guy if they could measure her feet and he said they don’t do that because shoes fit different. I explained I have no idea what size she is so he said if we come back another time we could figure that out. I told him her shoes have holes in the bottom so she needs them now. I had him get a size bigger and they ended up fitting but he was zero help on getting the size right. Then I asked him which size socks she needs and he said it’s on the box. I got the size it said and bought 3 pairs. They ended up being a little big. We were out of there at 6:50. I had the feeling it was late in the day and although we were the only ones in the store the guys working had no Interest in being much help. I spent $90 for kid shoes and socks and should have been more welcomed. I definitely won’t be back and neither will my sister. Any suggestions for other place in Louisville to...
