With all the options we have for Indian food in Louisville, this is our mainstay. We'll try other Indian restaurants when they open, but we always come back to Taj. If you're not familiar with Indian cuisine, this is the absolute best place to start. They have a lunch buffet that has numerous choices. Start there and experiment; see what you like or not like. Our 8 year old daughter started as an infant and hasn't stopped yet. She's tried most everything available and likes most of it. I have been following the owners since they came up from Texas and opened their first shop on the lower level of the old Admiral Benbow Inn on Bardstown Road. Staff still took the time to check on us and make sure we were well taken care of. Engaging and very attentive! I cannot understand anything less than 4 stars. The food was great, and enjoyed every minute of it. From the moment the complimentary papadum came out, everything was as good as we hoped it would be.
