White Castle — Restaurant in Meadow Vale

White Castle hamburgers have been around since 1921. A very long time in the restaurant industry.

I've been familiar with White Castle hamburgers for about 70 years. Back then the menu was quite different. As I remember from childhood, there were few choices. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers , donuts and other pastries. Coke coffee and water. Little if anything else.

And the facilities were much smaller and more unique than those of today. The buildings displayed more distinctive architectural elements and "castle" like appearance than today.

No drive-through, no curb service, no credit. One choice: eat here or carry out.

If you needed to use the restroom, it cost a nickel. The restrooms were clean and bright, like everything else about the White Castle. Their public imagine was clean, bright and white, right down to the White Castle name.

A lot has changed in nearly three quarters of a century, but one thing hasn't. The little square burger patty still has holes in it and the bun is hot, steamy and soggy. The onions still have that unique flavor and the aroma still lingers on your clothes for hours.

The buildings and parking lots are much larger now. The menu features many more options. Drive-through and online orders are popular. Credit and debit cards are accepted.

Unfortunately, at least at this facility, the level of service has declined. The facility lacks the spotless shiny appearance of the White Castles of an earlier time. The restrooms have been free for decades, but here they are odorous, overused and seldom cleaned. The public areas appear dirty, especially the floors, tables and seats and waste recepticles. Litter is visable in the parking lot.

Service, especially at the drive-through is sometimes slow. The staff are not as friendly. Some of them appear not to like their job, just putting in time for a paycheck.

I continue to return for one reason only - the little square hamburgers. The frozen ones aren't the same, but I do enjoy the original White Castle hamburgers. I never buy anything else, the newer menu items are of no...

3 people working and one guy walked up to window with money to pay for an order or something ?? / store doors locked no dining in ! We waited over 20 minutes in line just waiting give our order & once arrived to mic they said wait were short staffed a total 40 minutes later $65.42 ?I requested a discount for such a long wait and rudeness through drive through mic because I said the wait is unacceptable then an employee from inside said to me " YOU DONT HAVE TO EAT HERE !!?!?! I was like excuse me ?!? I spent $65 here waiting all this time in line for you talk to me like that ? I am your paycheck and a consumer to this corporation!?! I told the young girl you going let her speak to me like that ? She had attitude said she'll handle it but they closed window on us , my husband wanted me not pay and leave food after that statement to us … but they cooked it already and it was still wrong and fries cold , after that long line 40 minutes wait for this $65.42 charged after how we were disrespected, long wait , didn't feel important and was told we didn't have to eat here and was told this long story only 3 people staffed and no help ? This isn't my problem I am a consumer ! Corporation should close this building if can't give good customer service ! Pull footage and watch cars pull off throughout the day I'm sure because the long drive through wait time and store inside dinning closed ! ! Sale # 130830809 team member # 789 on 1/21/23 time was 4:08 pm I don't deserve this treatment and pay this kind of money for this disrespect and long wait and to find both fries cold and $32 crave case wasn't made as ordered had pickles and some no mustard ! What a mess please pull your footage and close the doors because you can’t give good friendly customer service or short wait times you have failed...

This is the absolute worse White Castle I have ever been to. Extremely slow and the staff has zero communication skills. I ordered a number 1 with cheese and NO BREAD I AM ALLERGIC, 3 piece mozz sticks and 2 cheese cups. After waiting in line for over 30 minutes in the drive thru she comes to the window wanting to give me someone else's order then finally brings my order and I asked if they made sure to keep the bread off, which of course they didn't but without saying anything takes bag to the cook and leaves the rest of the food that was for my hungry daughter in the car just sitting there. Then she comes back to the window and proceeds to tell me that the burgers have to be cooked with the bread on them then they will remove the bread once cooked. I asked her to make sure marinara sauce came with mozz sticks and she said yes. So she gives me the bag no marinara and just burger and onions thrown in a box on top of each other. I ask for the sauce and pickles then a guy comes to the window and told me they were out of sauce and he would be back with the pickles. I just wanted to drive off due to frustration at this point. So as I started to drive away I noticed there wasn't any cheese on there either and my daughter's cheese cups were ice cold. Decide to go inside at this point and waited another 5 minutes for my burgers. This whole experience as I was leaving the cook said sorry about that with a voice like I inconvenienced HER! Other than that not one person said sorry or let me get that taken care of for you or sorry about your wait. NOTHING!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER...
