Apparently only the owner can take a complaint and one is told to keep trying throughout the day as he comes in quote "now and again" I finally call when he is available. I explain that 2 out of the 3 dishes I had bought the night before were not very good. The eggplant and garlic dish was far too sweet. Sickly sweet. He told me I should not have ordered this dish if I did not like sweet as it is based on sweet and sour with spice. No one told me this when I ordered. It was also not described this way on the online menu. OK I thought, I just won't buy again and I'll ask more questions about other dishes in the future. Then I mentioned the dumplings were mushy in the wonton soup which is usually an indication that they had been in the liquid quite some time and reboiled/heated a few times. Definitely not freshly made. Owner then started to make excuses for this also. He proceeded to tell me the dumpling is made of flour and is boiled in liquid. I agreed but one boiling and the dumpling would still be firm. Several and it becomes mushy/very soft. Owner then impressed upon me that if I did not like his cooking I am free to buy elsewhere. I knew there was no way I could do business with this guy and told him I would call the credit card company for a chargeback. I was going to overlook the fact that his prices were actually higher then on the website. He also does not offer free delivery for any dollar amount anymore, but charges $1.50. He has not bothered to change his website informing us of these changes. I think it is quite obvious that he doesn't run this business to serve people but purely for his own benefit. We the customers are just something he has to put up with. This area has so few chinese restaurants and all have issues. I shall have to try Phat Ky and Rice and Rolls again. Prices are definitely a bit cheaper at both these places but last time I ate their food, I remember there were problems. Time to review them properly now that I won't be doing business with Wokone again. Everyone deserves a reasonably priced Indian or Chinese/Vietnamese...
Read moreI used to really love this restaurant, but the last 3 times I ordered salt and pepper tofu from them, the tofu was old or sour and I had to dump it. I really used to love this dish, so I gave them 3 chances on purpose, but they couldn't fix it. I'm really sorry the food quality has declined. 8/14/21 I am changing this review to 1 star because of problems with the food delivery. They finally fixed the sour tofu problem, so a few weeks ago, I ordered food around 9 pm, and at 10:20pm I still had not received it. I noticed I had a missed call on my phone, which was the driver. I called and asked him where he was and if he needed directions. He told me he had already delivered my food. My sister was outside the whole time with her daughter, and nobody ever came. He didn't want to admit he delivered my order to the wrong house. He then hung up the phone on me. I called the restaurant to tell the manager, who canceled the order because it was now after 10pm. I ended up ordering from them the next day, but the manager told me i had to come to the door and sign the receipt, which was fine. However, today when I ordered food, i was told that i would have to come outside to the driver to pick up the food, which was unacceptable. They did not want him to come to my door. If you can't trust your driver to deliver to the correct house, maybe he shouldn't be working for you. Customers order delivery for a reason- convenience. If you can't get the food to my door, don't offer delivery service. I asked the manager to cancel my order. I've tried to give them so many chances but it just isn't...
Read moreI used to eat here at least once every 2 weeks, or even once a week; but last time one of my co workers got EXTREMELY sick by eating here, I ignored him and went the next day for my usual General Tzo; and OMG, I almost died, I got food poisoning that felt as if I had actually eaten poison, I started with only a little stomach ache, then I started to get dizzy, my face and hands felt numb, my throat started to swallow, my ears were buzzing and lost balance, my coworkers took me to ER, and I was vomiting uncontrollably , I couldn't feel my face and felt on a high fever about to lose consciousness, after missing work for 2 days and feeling as I never felt before, I went back to the office and talked to my co worker who told me he experienced exactly the same.
Now, I don't know if that week they had pest control or a bad badge of chicken, but I'm very scared to feel like that again, which sucks, because I really liked that place. All of this happened months ago (March 2019), and until today I always feel like giving them another opportunity, but just the thought of feeling like that again is an...
