Julian's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Meadville

I feel so bad even leaving this review, and I want to preface this by saying that it is not the fault of the waitstaff. There seemed to be a shortage of kitchen staff. We wanted to try a new restaurant in the area and took my parents out for their 40th anniversary. We had a reservation for 6:00 pm and we were seated promptly. We had a group of 5 that ordered a few appetizers, two burgers with fries, and 2 entrees. It took about 45 minutes for appetizers (deep fried basic food including wings and onion rings) to come out to the table. After being seated at 6 we waited until about 7:40 for entrees to come out. It came out plate by plate, but had to ask for silverware and waited about 25 minutes to see the waitress/the bartender to get it. By the time we got to eat the food, some was cold, but the food that had just come out was hot. Overall, the food tasted fine - nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad. Some parts of the order were a little wrong, no big deal. The waitress apologized multiple times, and on a $135 bill, they did discount it by $22, but truly, it should have been comped to a greater degree. Multiple patrons walked out because it took so long. We were one of 2 or 3 tables that stayed, although, I wish we had not to be honest. We visited Julian's Bar & Grill right after the eclipse and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The place was brimming with the post-eclipse rush, yet the atmosphere was electric and welcoming. We decided to go for the wings and burgers, and let me tell you, they were nothing short of amazing. Each bite was a burst of exquisite flavors that left us craving for more.

What made our visit exceptionally memorable was our server, Taylor. Despite the restaurant getting incredibly busy, Taylor and her team managed the crowd with such professionalism and grace that it was astonishing. Her attentiveness and positive attitude added so much value to our dining experience.

The combination of delicious food and stellar service truly sets Julian's Bar & Grill apart. Taylor and her team's ability to handle the eclipse rush so efficiently without compromising on the quality of food or service is commendable.

I had a late lunch here with my sister and adult daughter. The environment of the restaurant is probably my favorite part of the experience, which is not to say the food wasn't delicious. I had a chicken sandwich called 'The UFO' that was supposed to be a full pickle brined breast filet and had a plethora of toppings. It was good but the tang of dill I was expecting didn't really shine through. The fries were fresh cut style and good. I was unimpressed by the spinach artichoke dip and a few of my tortilla chips were undercooked. My sister had a burger that looked delicious and came with fries. My daughter was the only one of us that didn't like her meal. She had an Alfredo pasta meal with chicken (and shrimp maybe??). Her sauce was definitely broken making the dish oily and unappealing looking. Our server was amazing and attentive to our needs. TLDR: Not a bad spot for a casual meal, a bit pricey but...
